Four pieces of sliced meat (turkey & ham, usually, but sometimes Boar’s Head Chicken)
Seven ounces of Orange Juice
One container of Publix Fat-Free Yogurt
Eight ounces of water
Dietary Supplements: 1 pill each of Cod Liver Oil, Potassium, Calcium, “One-a-day”
I eat at 6:45 A.M., and am usually hungry by 11:00 A.M.
For those of you keeping score, I eat according to Dr. Barry Sears’ Zone plan.
I find that I’m not much of a traditional breakfast food kind of gal. During the work week, I’ll either skip breakfast or have something non-traditional like a fruit smoothie or a salad. I’ve also found that hot pockets make a great alternative to Poptarts if you don’t like sweets.
I love my breakfast
and I’m sitting here and having it now.
It’s;
one sandwitch with cheese and tomato on,
one egg, one orange and the most importent thing, coffee and a couple of cockies to it.
Sometimes a yougurt too.
Can’t start a day without my coffee.
Usually, it’s cereal - a mix of Special K and Corn Total, with (go ahead and laugh) chocolate milk. Sometimes I’ll have bacon with it. Coffee is a must.
When there’s more time on the weekends, I’ll eat chocolate chip pancakes (so I like chocolate), or french toast.
Usually, I don’t eat breakfast. On the rare occasions I do, it is Lucky Charms. However, this morning I had cold baked chicken, watermelon and cottage cheese. Which leads me to a…
slight hijack
After fixing my lovely breakfast, I left everything on the kitchen table and wandered back to the office to peruse SDMB. I suddenly hear this great BLAM. I run downstairs to the kitchen, where I find that my 6 mo. old mini-doxie (all 6 lbs) had pulled on the tablecloth until everything crashed to the floor. Our other dog, a 130 lb. Golden Retriever, was still sleeping soundly in the next room. As ticked off as it made me, I still would have liked to see him do it. It was just like in the cartoons.
What I like to eat for breakfast: a nice homemae 2 egg omelette with cheddar cheese and mushrooms, an english muffin with butter, a big glass of orange juice and coffee.
What I actually had this morning: a granola bar, a bag of chee-tos, and a bottle of green tea.
What matters is that I eat it 300 yards from 4000 Cubans who are trained to kill me. So don’t think for a SECOND that you can come into this thread, flash a question, and make me nervous!
I’ve always believed that God intended people to eat cold cereal with milk in the morning. Every morning.
My suitemates are forbidden to speak to me before I’ve finished breakfast, and my grumpiness then is legendary within my little circle.
I’m like Tiki. I have to wait for awhile after I wake up before I eat. Otherwise–my poor tummy can’t sit well.
I usually have a glass of Instant Breakfast on the weekdays. On the weekends–I indulge myself and break out the cereal.
I like most cereals. On the sugary side–I love Apple Jacks, Golden Grahams, Honeycomb, and Fruity Pebbles. On the not-so-sugary side, I love Special K, Grape Nuts, and Rice Krispies.
I don’t eat breakfast, ever. Not unless, because of no food the previous day, I am extremely hungry when I wake. This is so rare as to be non-existent, really.
For some reason, though I used to eat breakfast a bit when I was a teen, these days the thought of food in the morning is just horrific. But then I’m not really one to expend much energy in any given day, so… perhaps if that was different, I’d start having brekky.
Ashtar - when I eat cereal it’s usually Wheat Chex, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios or Life. (But cereral doesn’t last long with me - 2 hours later I’m hungry again.)
ITR Champion - you’re going to hate me - I don’t like Lucky Charms (marshmallows - ewwww).
Thanks everyone! I got a lot of good suggestions and I’m going to try a lot of them.
