What Do You Find Attractive About Men?

Yeah, what she said. But especially about James, and ESPECIALLY about Jensen! Damn, boy! I just hope that whoever’s having you knows what the hell they’re doing!

And before I take my leave ('cause I’m not the putative demographic for this particular thread), let me just clarify this again for the other Doper men out there who might bemoan their geek status: Some of you nebbishy guys–especially those of you who really and truly are decent and smart (yep, sense of humor helps, too) and don’t need to impress anyone with so-called manliness–are SO EFFING HOT, you have **NO ** idea. I mean, really, you just don’t know. I see this type all the time in New York City and on campus (and have damn near lost my mind over them), so I know whereof I speak.

Lean arms, not with muscles that are visible without flexing. Triceps.

Shyness. Skinny-guy abs that aren’t there because of any amount of workout.
Give me a guy in glasses over contacts any day.

For all the hype about the big manly types, I get more turned on by a guy who is an impressive speaker than anything else. If you exude that confidence and mental organization, ::: swoon :::

You don’t even have to be particularly athletic or muscular to pull that one off either.

Hmmph…I miss my man…:frowning:

Knowing exactly where you stand.

Sometimes after the whole “I love your hair” ,“Where did you get that skirt”, “Ooh, have you lost weight” business that is the way most women deal with each other it’s nice to be straightforward and direct with someone.

What makes a man attractive to me is a great smile, one they really mean, not a fake.

See, a guy like, say, Denzel Washington is yummy enough, but oh, the wicked grin he got on his face in Much Ado About Nothing, when he described how they would make Beatrice and Benedick fall in love. I wanted to drag him right out of the screen.

It’s not about being conventionally handsome though. Tom(Dr.Who) Baker had, at best, average looks. But the first episode I saw him in, when he suddenly gave this big, toothy grin, I loved him!

Of course, I do love a hairy chest. A guy who’s too smooth all over looks like a boy, unless you know he’s done it for a good reason, like Olympic swimmers.

Hair, skin, or eye color don’t matter. I do like facial hair. Tom Selleck, just by looks, in Quigley Down Under was an ideal physical specimen.

But a good attitude, and a great smile, are the best.

I’m not a vastly affectionate person but all of my girlfriends are. I like men because their affections are genuine and not just done to be socially acceptable.

The way they totally obsess over something. Women don’t seem to do it, not in the same way, atleast. I guess thats one reason why there are more male geeks than female ones.

Just listening to a man explain something, just because its close to his heart and he wants to share, and not to impress me…sigh

Doesn’t have to be anything I would normally find interressting either. Antique rotor-blade propellars, war-movies, politics, wine, how to make a perfect baked salmon…it’s all great, so long as I get to listen to you (although in some cases you’re going to loose me unless you give me toddler-version. I have yet to meet anyone who could talk about Linux in a remotely interresting manner.)

I guess I’m a sucker for geeks.

I’m going to go ahead and second that. What I like about men is when the skinny ones have those impossibly long torsos with just a little bit of stomach muscle. I’m definitely a slight muscle kinda gal, but I do like really strong thighs. I like that I can play video games with them, and they actually care about winning. I like that they get mad so easily and that it just vaporizes after a few minutes. I like that satisifed look they get whenever they’re feeling extra manly. (i.e. they’ve just had sex, fixed something, or solved some kind of problem.) I like how they can keep their little boy interests for the rest of their lives, with about the same level of wonder. I like how warm they are, I like it when they can pick me up, and I like it that they’re bigger than me, generally. I also like that they tend to be quieter than women, but can still have a presence in a large group without talking a lot.

Yup, I like men. Nerdy men too.
