I’m kinda sorry I’m not home today - it’s a gloriously cool morning and I’d have opened the house for fresh air. Oh well…
My plea for work worked - I am busy again - yay!!
Happy Thursday!!

Happy Thursday!!
Up TDE (Too Damn Early), but feeling OK. 64F outside, only getting to 80F, so it is cooling off some.
Sunny, good news on the house. May Murphy become confused on the way to your new residence…
Nut, what’s a good time to spray for spiders and invasive, Insect eating plants??
And that’s all I got for the morning.
blurfage Irking but I have to go to a Counter Intelligence training here in a few minutes. I was on the dink list.

I’m usually a roast beef kind of girl when I go to Arby’s, but I was in the mood for something lighter. (Yeah, I know, I paired it with mozzarella sticks, so I’m not winning awards for the healthiest lunch.) The turkey sandwich is actually pretty good; it’s kind of surprising how good the rest of Arby’s menu is when you break away from roast beef and curly fries. And I’m not the only one who thinks that…
The Arby’s in Leonardtown sucks swampwater mightily! Service is slow, the restaurant isn’t the cleanest, and frankly, the food is really mediocre. Yet for some reason, **FCD **likes it, so we’ve got more than I ever would if I could choose. I miss Roy Rogers roast beef sammiches. I loved them!
Look what I found, a metal mouse trap. :dubious:
Arbys around here are mixed from really great (Banksville Rd) to complete crap-holes (Ohio River Blvd). I miss Roys although I do hit the one on the turnpike now and then as well as some of the MD/VA locations in passing. What I really really and truly miss are Carrols as I have stated before; they really bought my loyalty after how well they treated us after Agnes in 72.
Doubled yesterday again and recovering. Am seriously considering jumping to the other branch of Da Jungle just -------- its only 3 days a week and from 10pm-6am. I have not done graveyard in ages and when I did it was a 5-day-thing so you could easily move your body clock around and keep it there. For three days I am not sure how my system would adjust.
Blurf Back from training and lunch. Now it is nap time. I wish. I have a meeting in an hour with one of my vendors. Other than that it is painfully slow which is normal for this time of year.
Happy almost weekend.
Blurf.
The Board having eaten my morning post:
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled.
Walked Gordie
Went to the laundromat
Walked Gordie
Cleaned the kitchen
Walked Gordie
Going to a baseball game tonight.*
Yay on the house progress, Sunny!
Butters ,I know the government is frequently counter to intelligence, but they train you that way?:dubious:;):p:D
*Not actully a baseball fan, just going for the beer, and to hang out with hockey friends.
It’s a beautiful day today!
Winodws are wide open. I’ve sat outside and fed the skeeters three times today.
It’s not easy to be grumpy on such a pretty day but I am managing it.
School books came today, well two of the three. The other is on back order but should be here tomorrow. I had to call to see when it was coming in case I needed to order it online. That professor sends an email everyday reminding him that the course is open, he can get the book online, he can start now, and it’s okay if he finishes early.
I think what the progfessor means is hurry up and get this over with so I can take the second half of the semester off.
Congrats on new car Red, congrats on almost finished new house Sunny.
Sorry about your friend {{{Spidey}}}
Be careful!
Kitchen floor tiling is done, they start on the bathroom and shower tomorrow. Just got an updated schedule from my builder, all the work should be done by the 12th of September and the final “Sign-off” by 21 September. Need to go to a store tomorrow to look at lights for the bathroom; minor stuff, and maybe I’ll look for some bathroom mirrors while I’m out.
Soccer practice in about 2 hours, so need to stay awake. Just tired today, maybe being cooped up in the house, I had nappage, probably need caffeine.
doggio, are you walking Gordie enough?? How about after the baseball game??
Kroger will stop using plastic bags.
How on Earth will we empty cat boxes?!?!?
:dubious:
flytrap even emptying 2 cat boxes, I think I have enough plastic bags to supply the West Coast for a decade.
I’m trying really hard not to be petty about my SIL, but he makes it nearly impossible. At supper tonight, he took the biggest baked potato, put HALF a container of sour cream on it, then ate about half the potato and threw the rest away. Meanwhile, a smaller potato was left in the bowl. I wouldn’t care if he’d eaten all that sour cream, but fully half of what took went in the trash. <headdesk>
And someone, I don’t know who, left the freezer slightly open. It was full of “snow” and the ice was kinda melty. I didn’t accuse, but I asked everyone to make sure it was closed when they went in there.
It’s a grouchy evening.
Well that is scary!
I think they are lying about there being three times as many skeeters this year. I think there are about 100 times more.
It would bother me too, FCM
For a while my son had a girl friend, not a girl friend, but a girl who was a friend. A few times we stopped to pick up food on the way back to our house. She would order a fish filet, a specialty chicken sandwich, large fries, and one of the expensive fruit smoothie drinks. Then she would eat a few bites of each and throw the rest away.
Her mother was always complaining about not having enough money. I thought no wonder if all three of your kids do this.
Didn’t take long for me to stop buying stuff and start fixing something at home.
I saw the same thing with a different friend. We all went out to dinner one night and they took their teenage daughter and two of her friends. Each of the girls ordered appetizers, salads, substituted side dishes (which adds to the cost), and ordered dessert. Most of it got thrown away. They didn’t even want doggie bags.
Another one who complained about never having enough money for the bills.
My other friend and I were in shock, and I know she was thinking like I was, that if my kid ever did that when somebody else was paying for dinner I’d kick his ass. If his friends did that when I was paying for dinner it would be their last invitation.
But that friend’s husband likes to play big spender and dropping a few hundred dollars on dinner is not a big deal.
Until the mortgage is due.
Howdy Y’all! Been kinda bzzy today. Went to the doc and the vampires, had Hardee’s for N.O.L., went to Sam’s for some stuff, brought said stuff back to da cave and put it all where it lives until it gets used, went through more miscellaneous junk stored about da cave and even got rid of some of said junk, and got some more skool supplies gathered up to take over to the church house, which I shall do Sattidy when I get the joy of attendin’ an all mornin’ meetin’ that, on the bright side, shall be followed by N.O.L. We have also ingested majik intartoobz pizza. All is good.
spidey and metal mouse, I thought of that and arranged backup transportation just in case the dealership doesn’t honor the agreement.
ruble, I worked three twelve hour graveyard shifts on the weekend for several years. I pretty much kept similar hours through the week as on the work weekends.
The word on teh NPI manager today is that he’s in a medically induced coma to stabilize him for surgery. Keep going Bruce!
I took tomorrow off to get stuff done. Once settled into the new car, one of the first orders of business is to take a certain pupper to the dog park.
He hasn’t been since the day we left for Indiana. He’s getting antsy and ate his first shoe the other night.
