It’s also rude to invite someone to a bridal shower and not the wedding.
It’s equally (maybe more) rude not to thank everyone who gives you a gift. A post on FB saying “Thanks for the presents” doesn’t count. If you can’t take the time to write a note to a specific person expressing gratitude for a specific gift, you are classless. Period.
Yeah, it’s happened to me more than once.
I have never been to a wedding, except as security for the after party. Not by design, either. Been invited to 2 that I couldn’t make, and watched one via webcam, but I think it has to be some kind of a record. Mind you, half my age mate friends seem to be getting divorced now.
Car fuel (plus some human fuel) acquired. Brain now switching off for the evening.
Howdy, Tis Firday at last even though I have to irk a half day tomorrow. I need to leave a little early today to go to the pass and ID office to get my CAC unblocked. My irk computer has not irked in over a month since Windows 10 was installed and in trying to get connected today I entered my credentials too many times and locked my card. Stupid computer.
I’m not sure but I think and hope my houseguest left this morning. I love the guy but time to go.
Sara that bat incident is scary. I would have freaked out.
Back from the vet.
He didn’t get his other shots, they just took him in the back and gave him a rabies shot.
Nuts you are welcome to all the bats you want. You are lucky in that you don’t have to worry about rabies where you are.
Besides, it belongs outside eating the mosquitoes that have been feasting on me.
Juliet, FCM, MetalMouse, and WetOne. I agree it’s rude.
I wonder if they are only inviting those who rsvp’d for the shower?
Daughter, SIL, and his brother made supper - burgers, salad, and tots. **FCD **and I are cleaning the disaster that is the kitchen. That is, he’s rinsing the dishes, and after I load the dishwasher, I need to scrub down the counters, stove, and sink. Good times…
Howdy Y’all! I have been a sloth except I did wash and dry a load of towels. Loverly day today so I had some quality cee-mint pond time. We supped on sammiches and fries. All is well.
I despise save the date cards. Whenever I’ve gotten one my first thought has always been, “What if I don’t? What you gonna do about it?” Just seems so silly to me. Also, one must send hand written thank you notes. To not do so is a cardinal sin in the southern USofA!
Met up with friends today, which was really nice.
Was tired all day, as always. Tried to nap. Got woken up multiple times by violent full-body spasms, so didn’t really nap. I’m tired of this happening every day.
Tomorrow is my mother’s memorial service.

doggio, I buy biodegradable poo bags. I figure anything as inherently biological as dog poop shouldn’t be encased in plastic.
Mooooooom, I’ve been to more weddings in the past two years than I had in the prior decade. Aside from nieces and nephews, it’s been folks who had been together for years but weren’t able to be legally married until then.
I got the new car! It’s nice. I did catch myself turning it off today without putting it in park though. I knew that was going to happen at some point. We made the inaugral trip to the dog park and Nelson approves.
As for the OP, the new wheels has been christened the grey ghost or Ghost for short. I’m getting some of the tech figured out and like it. The dealership couldn’t find the other key fob, so if it doesn’t turn up by Monday, they will program another one for me.
:sings: On the road atain…
Have you seen a doctor about that?
Canadians have great health care.
{{{Midget}}}. Also :eek::eek: I presume as flytrap notes you are seeing a doctor about that.
Red, enjoy the new car!
Nut, last wedding I was at was my brothers about 25 years ago. Waiting for the niece/nephews to start getting busy.
Soccer practice went pretty well, the boys were a bit fiesty until they had to play a girl’s team with a very good forward who beat on them, so maybe they’ll be a little less cocky tomorrow.
Saturday is going to be tough:
8:00am–Coach 12U Boys game
9:30am–Coach 12U Girls game (on a different field)
12:15pm–Coach 7U Girls game
2:00pm–drive 20 miles to referee 12U boys game
Approximately 4:00pm. Arrive home and collapse.
EYA: First on Four!
My psychiatrist prescribed the sleeping pills (shortly before my mother died) and then went on vacation for a while, so I haven’t been able to talk to him about the pills. I did see the pharmacist, who said to halve the dose, so I did. She saw me later and I told her things were a bit better but I was still tired all day, so she said to halve the dose again. Haven’t done that yet. Worried about not being able to sleep if I reduce the dose any further.
The good news is that I’m seeing my psychiatrist on Tuesday. (Yes, I did try to get an earlier appointment, but didn’t work.)
I can’t remember, do psychologists or psychiatrists have a medical degree?
Psychiatrists prescribe meds, psychologists talk with you.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and fair (I guess. Looks dark to me.) with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ I shall betake myself to the church house for a Vestry meetin’ with the Lutheran Advisory Council. On the upside, N.O.L. shall be provided. Other than that, who knows what the day holds. Mayhaps some quality cee-mint pond time.
{{{Midget}}} you’re facin’ a tough time today with your mom’s memorial. I wish you peace. Also, meds can be weird. I take an anti-depressant and went through a trial of three different ones before I found one I could deal with. Turns out I’m pretty much on the mildest form of the mildest anti-depressant, but it works. Hope you can figure out the sleep meds.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, I must purtify and dress in appropriate goin’ about the public attire. Such bother!
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. The steak dinner at the VFW last night was awesome. The band, not so much.
:dubious:
: plans on standing upwind at any MD Dopefests :
sari, glad Ripple is OK. But I’m sure the bat thought he was at Ozzy’s house after that ordeal.

red, Gordie thinks he’s a cow, and produces cow quantities of excrement. I need the shopping bags for the volume. And congrats on the Ghost!
Woke around 4, dammit. I played on my tablet, hoping it’d tire me, but my bladder kept making me get up, so I finally just gave up. There’s a load of jeans in the washer and I’m having a PB&J. Daughter and SIL are spending the day at his mom’s, tho I don’t expect them to leave before noon. How did two early starters like **FCD **and me birth such a night person??
Apart from laundry, I’m hoping to pull some weeds today. I should clean the kitchen floor also. Maybe. We shall see how I feel. **FCD **should be working much of the day - he got more hours on the gunner’s seat project, redesigning a part that an analyst designed… I swear, some people think that since they learn how to use CAD software, they’re qualified to do engineering designs - on CRITICAL items even!! The gunner’s seat is a high-profile project because soldiers are being hurt and killed, and someone who’s never had a single engineering class or turned on a lathe or mill thinks he’s got the answers. At least it pays **FCD **well.
Anyway, that’ll be our day, or not. We shall see. Happy Saturday!
sari, I’m glad that Ripple is OK.
They found the key fob at the dealership, so I’ll swing through there today. Other than that, I need to do a load of towels, clean the puppy crate, shop for groceries and return the rental.
Happy Saturday!
Another pretty day outside, but the heat is coming back. Highs in the 90s are predicted for next week.
I, too, woke around 4am, damn bladder. I stayed up until 6 when the sleepies hit. I’d probably still be sleeping if Ripple hadn’t woke me at 8:30.
Lots to do today. We are picking up groceries this morning. Small order. We don’t need much but have run out of a few things. Usually I am much better at ordering and we run out of everything around the same time.
Then I am going to sit down with my son and figure out the registeration of the online books and getting his class stuff ready to go.
The front yard needs mowing, the back yard needs whacking, I want him to hang my new blinds today, the beadboard and baseboards in the kitchen need washing, the baseboards in the living room need dusting. I love all the woodwork in this house but it takes work to keep it looking nice. All the little doodads and cutouts are dust collectors.
Of course we will vacuum, vacuum, and vacuum some more because there is always hair/fur everywhere. I try to brush the dog and cat outside everyday but they don’t always cooperate. I can’t put it all on the pets though, I have waist length hair, and my son has thick, curly, halfway down his back hair. We shed too. My hair is the pita hair that gets wrapped around the roller of the vacuum.
Congrats on new wheels Red

Ripple is bugging me for some breakfast. He has a bowl full of food but he wants some real food. Like ham and eggs.
Did I kill the MMP?
Back from getting groceries. We went through a car wash on the way. I thought it was going to be a bunch of kids/teenagers doing a half assed job. It was actually a bunch of sailors and they did a beautiful job. I feel bad that I only gave them $11. I don’t carry much cash on me and they don’t take credit cards, or I would have given them $50.
