What do you name in the MMP?

It’s just restin’

We decided at irk that there must be an arsehole convention on locally; for some weird reason, we’ve just had the worst bunch of slobs to clean up after this weekend. Everything took longer than it should have. I mean, we irk til it’s finished and I get paid hourly, so it’s not as though I lose out exactly, but today was the one really nice day forecast for the week and I would have liked to get away early.

Oh well, I probably wouldn’t have done much anyway, it’s still really busy round here, the beaches, roads and nice areas are jam packed. I’m just counting down the days til September, when most of the tourists suddenly vanish.

Red congrats on Ghost!

Midget hugs to you. Be kind to yourself. I’ll be thinking of you.

Sari  If I was close enough, I’d take all of my vehicles to that carwash. A good carwash is worth its weight in gold.

Doggio are you sure Gordie thinks he’s a cow? I thought he liked to chase cows? Maybe the mole people are tricking you. :dubious:

Happy Sattidy.

Only 2 loads of laundry today, and they’re probably dry, but I’ll leave them out a little longer. We went to Red Robin for lunch and **FCD **is napping. I finally vacuumed my car - I should wash the inside of the windshield, too. But first, I think it’s a good time for some Netflix.

Well, turns out today’s meetin’ was postponed. Wish I had known before I drove all the way to the church house. :dubious: EYP was apologetic to the point of wantin’ to beat himself for not addin’ me to the listserv for the Vestry from which an email was sent last Moanday. So, OYKW and I made pear relish instead. That was goin’ to be done tomorrow afternoon. I shall call that a win. We can be sloths after deheathenization.

Laundry is in and stowed. Baby’s swing arrived today - according to the Jungle, I should be receiving it between Aug 29 and Sep 6. Now we just need a couple of eye bolts or hooks screwed into one of the beams on the clothesline deck.

It’s the kind of swing that can go from baby to toddler to kidlet. Hope she likes it!

Have you survived your day MetalMouse?

I’m sure she will love it FCM

I’m getting things done much slower than I wanted to.
Of course taking a nap didn’t help the time line.

Yes.

Boys 12U game was an 1-8 loss; we didn’t play badly but kept giving them the ball in front of the goal, which is a bad thing. But we’ll work on it. 12U Girls won 7-4, every time we got ahead by two-three goals I’d pull my attackers back and the other team would promptly score to get close again, so I’d have to move them back forward. Still, we played well. Girls 7U won 6-3, I may have a machine here (as much as you can say that about 6 year olds), but I do have some good players and we were winning 6-1 before I could pull the top players back and stationed. them by the goal, so the other team scored a couple more.

Then drove about 20 miles to referee, another ref was there and asked if he could do the center, and I didn’t argue, I did the sidelines and did it well, but in 90F heat it was tough. Had a BLT and much water/sweet tea as I could drink and am currently trying to stay vertical because if I lay down I’m going to sleep.

And I’ve got to mow the lawn tomorrow…

FCM, swings and infants were made for each other; I’m sure she’ll take right to it.

Important lesson from swampy; when life hands you an unexpected postponement, make pear relish.

Nut, I’ll never understand why people on holiday decide that they can act totally differently when away from home…or maybe they are *not *acting differently…:eek:

Mooomm one of my earliest memories is hanging out in the swing while my mom did the wash and hung the laundry in the basement. We didn’t have a dryer when I was a wee one. I suspect the mog will like it.

Long day at Da Jungle yesterday but fun day today. We volunteered at the local Major Amusement Park That Isn’t Knoebels But Is Spelled With A K as sorta-employees. We don’t get paid but a 501c3 we support does. We ended up basically running a 4-D Theater ourselves. The last time I worked in an amusement park as a regular op Carter had just taken office and the last time the OW did was never. But according to the manager we did a damn fine job. With school starting again and all they were so short-staffed that 1/2 the gift and food shops never opened and 5 rides that were working weren’t working. So they were damn glad to have the help and we got some fun memories out of it. The OW is doing it twice more next month and me once. Out of say 150 possible people from our group we were the only two to volunteer today. Makes me glad we pitched in.

I pigged out today, but in my defense I could say it is for charity.

The local Indian community had it’s annual festival, and of course one of the main attractions is food. There is always a wide variety, representing many different Indian dishes, even some of the more unfamiliar sweets. Money raised goes to charity, this year it is the Special Olympics.

Topeka has four good food events, the IndiaFest, the Mexican Fiesta, the German Fest, and the Greek food fest at the Orthodox church. I’m going to miss the latter this year, I’ll be out of town the first weekend in October. I may have someone get me a plate, I can always warm it up. I love their food.

Worked, walked Gordie, napped. Made Italian chicken with cheesy rice. Gordie likes this, because the cheese shavings that fall on the counter go into his bowl

Nope, he likes to graze, and makes “moo” noises. The boy has a very active fantasy life.

MetalMouse, that’s a heck of a day.

Cupcakes, our Greek Festival is the weekend after Labor Day.

Cupcakes as in fry bread? or curry?

Doggio my cats like it when I make cheese dishes, but that exact reason.

Happy Sunday!

I’ve been awake since 3am.
Very annoying.

It’s a cool morning outside, 66 degrees, so the windows are open.
Still lots to do this weekend.

Curry. And so much more. There are two Indian restaurants in town, although I’ve not been to eat there. A lot of the food is home made but the two restaurants each have stations.

In addition to food there is dancing, henna painting, and photo ops. The latter has a table of various Indian outfits, and you get your picture taken in front of a huge picture of the Taj Mahal.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear (gettin’ daylight) with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today’s plans call for deheathenization, I am the first non-cannibal kind of Lector, grabbin’ some N.O.L. probably a burger, and headin’ back to da cave whereupon I shall smoke two Boston <snerk> Butts! <snerk> one of which shall go into da freezer and one which shall be turned into bbq for next weekend’s soiree out by the cee-mint pond. Ribs and chikin laigs and boobs shall also get smoked sometime durin’ the week. Again some to go into da freezer and some for consumption next weekend. We shall host a Labor Day weekend pigathon.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then at some point purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Morn… uhh… afternoon all!

Lazy day today; off but weather’s awful and I’ve not got a whole lot that needs doing. I shall defilthify the place a bit later, but slobbage shall be the main theme of the day.

doggio, making anything with cheese gets an audiance of one little reddish brown dog. He’s also game for cucumbers.

Up, caffeinating, having leftover pizza for breakfast. There’s a load of towels in the wash and the puppy crate is clean. Not a whole lot on the agenda today except the usual Sunday chores.

Back from breakfast - **FCD **wanted to go to Denny’s again. Meh.

We hung the baby’s swing, then **FCD **decided it was too hot in here (73°???) so the house is closed and the air is on at 71°! He’s insane and I’m cold. I’m about to reset the thermostat.

No plans for the day - we shall see what I decided to do.

Happy Sunday!!

Howdy! I have a couple loads of laundry and some general sprucing up to do today. I also need to run to the drugstore and need to decide on what I shall cook today. The fridge needs a bath so maybe that will happen. Or not.

Sinuses are in overdrive this morning so a pill has been consumed for that. I am off now to find something for breakfast. I have all the ingredients to cook a big breakfast but that probably won’t happen either.

Happy Sunday all!
