What do you put salt/pepper on that most people do not?

For me it’s biscuits, the American kind, not the British kind. I’ve also been known to put pepper on buttered toast.

I don’t know what most people do with cottage cheese, but I like a lot of pepper on it only.

Cantaloupe. I like to eat them with ham as well.

Salt on watermelon makes it sweeter.

I’ve heard this my whole life. To me, it only makes it salty.

Salt into water at restaurants, back when those places existed.

Pepper on strawberries.

And I sometimes add (rock) salt to my black coffee.

salted watermelon is good!!

To cut down on carbs, I decided I shouldn’t have my usual PB sandwich for lunch. Instead, I dip a carrot in peanut butter… and then a shake of salt on each bite.

Hmmm, that might be because I’m not using Skippy or anything. I’m going with Trader Joe’s Mixed Nut Butter.
Lower sodium… but not when I get through with it!

If there’s no lox around when I’m putting cream cheese on a bagel, I just salt the cream cheese.

Pepper (and turmeric, ginger, and stevia) in my coffee.

As a kid, I accidentally got a little salt intended for my pork chop onto my applesauce, and I’ve been surreptitiously adding a shake to applesauce ever since.

I used to do this. Then I tried it with steak seasoning. Now I use that.

Hmmmmm…

IMHO, salt on watermelon and apples is an abomination. No, it doesn’t make them sweeter. It makes them salty and disgusting.

Now that I have enraged a certain segment of the population, wanna know what’s really good? On popcorn? Salt, butter, and black pepper. yum.

I like pepper on corn on the cob.

I like extra salt on buttered bread.

Orange slices in soy sauce.

I have always put butter, salt, and pepper on my corn on the cob.

a) canteloupe: both salt and pepper

b) mayonnaise: pepper in a lot of different contexts

c) sliced apples: salt

Also if “most people” disincludes southern folks, all of the following get salted at the table:

watermelon; limes; lemons; tomatoes; fresh pork; corn on the cob

(you don’t have to be southern to salt them but I’m under the impression that you’re more likely to not do so if you aren’t)
