Heh, I sort of pictured this guy I know who smokes four(!) packs a day–he walks around with a smoke hanging out of his mouth at every moment and lights 'em off the butt of the last one, right. Since I’m not in the habit of taking bong rips at traffic stops and walking around with a joint at work, there are certain hours of the day in which I don’t smoke. I just cracked up at the idea of how it’s physically possible to go through an ounce every two weeks and have time to go grocery shopping and everything else .
Before I moved to the States, I smoked Du Maurier regular. Now that I’m down here, it’s Marlboro Lights (prefer a box, don’t really give a rat’s ass if it’s a soft pack). Every now and again for a treat, I’ll buy Camel Turkish Royals. Tasty.
I smoked Marlboro Reds for 3 years, gave up smoking all together for 10 years and started back up. I started back with the reds but switched to Marlboro Menthol light 100’s. I switched because my girlfriend at the time smoked them and I bought her a carton when she was in County. The jail wouldn’t let her have them and I couldn’t even give 'em away, so I smoked myself. Now I smoke whatever ML100’s are cheapest (except Doral’s…NEVER Doral’s).
Back when I lived in Las Vegas, a friend of mine was manager of a smoke shop and often gave me cigars to review for her. Damn, I miss those days. I tried everything from $1.99 cheapies to $50 imports.
As for anything else, it never had any noticable effect on me and I haven’t even tried it in over 10 years.

Interesting that a few of us still smoke Drum. I smoked that for a number of years, and liked it very much, until, in '97 or '98, it disappeared from the New England market but was quickly replaced by a brand called Bali Shag, which has a similar packaging design. At first I was offended by the substitution and not happy about it at all; however, when Drum resurfaced through an American distributor (now available at around $2.66 a pack at Wal-Mart), the quality was so badly inferior that I began to love Bali Shag wholeheartedly; it’s what Drum used to be.
Here in Rhode Island, punitive taxes on cigaret papers drive the price of a pack of Bali Shag to about $7.50, unless the tobacconist is clever enough to remove the book of (extremely crappy) papers and throw them away, in which case it’s five-and-change. My dealer does this, so I love him. I buy months’ worth of Smoking brand papers at a Massachusetts place in Harvard Square, but I’d do this anyway, because the Bali Shag papers suck. I get fifty or sixty cigarets per pack of Bali Shag, and even with the added expense of buying papers separately, it’s way cheaper than smoking factory cigs, and much, much tastier. All of which adds up to, unfortunately, I’ll probably never quit.
As to the green? Gourmet, please.
Yeah, appropriately named. I’m going to be a dad soon so I think in a short time I may have to pass the mantle on to someone else.
Mostly menthol light kings (100’s are too awkward). Lately Marlboro by the pack (lotsa 2-for1 promos lately); by the carton, Sandia menthol light–$10 a carton online, delivered by mail in 3 days!
Daily:
1g dirty mexican ditch weed
1.5 packs camel light kings
Usually when I quit smoking, I’ll buy a pack of Drum, just in case
In my pocket, no. without looking, or in the dark - that’s quite easy - like tying your laces in the dark.
Back to the OP, I am a recreational smoker. I generally consider myself a non-smoker, but kind of a lapsed one. I like Dunhill Mild, or Bank aromatic if I roll mt own. For the other stuff, if it were legal, a hyypothetical scenario would be my non smoking it for a year or two, then buying a few bags, one after the other. The last hypothetical baggie I bought lasted three months, the one before about a week. Depends on my mood.
