What do you smoke, Dopers?

Good lord, how do you find time to do anything else?

As for myself, when I used to smoke cigarettes it was always Kamel Reds. Occasionally Kamel Lights, but only for the lovely pack. I only ever habitually smoked a few a day at the most, but got down to the point where I’d take so long to finish a pack that I’d forget I had it and it would go stale. That’s when I quit buying them entirely.

Otherwise, I probably go through a quarter ounce every two months or so. A bowl a couple nights a week, mostly to help me sleep or if I feel a migraine coming on. Or, you know, if I know The Tick is going to be on and want to be extra-giggly  .

Amen to that. I really enjoy it. I quit last summer for a few months but as soon as I got back to school, I was back on the habit. Worst couple of months of my life. Never been so grumpy.

When I started smoking at 15, all the teenagers smoked Marlboros - either reds or 100s. Since I didn’t start smoking to be cool, I decided that I didn’t need to just smoke what everybody else smoked. So I tried at least one pack of almost every brand available and settled on Camel
Filters. In recent years this has changed to Camel Ultra Lights.

I just very recently quit, and today is the first day I wasn’t totally consumed with the grumpiness of 10 . But when I did smoke I smoked “Market” cigarettes, not for the taste but they where only 8$ a carton. Which I always went with the cheapest for no other reason then I was addicted to tobacco not a brand.

My maternal grandmother used to chainsmoke those. When my cousin and I were young she would send us to the store (back before they much cared about ID’ing kids) to buy her a couple of cartons at a time. Haven’t thought of them in years, but seeing it in writing reminded me that he and I used to get the biggest kick out of calling them “Vagina Slimes.”

Makes me giggle even now :stuck_out_tongue:

Been smoking Marlboro Reds (box please) for about 13 years. Managed to quit for a whole year a few years back, but stupidly restarted. (soulmurk’s rule of quitting: no, just one really will hurt. Even months or years later. Trust me.)

Started smoking them because at the time they went by nicknames like “Cowboy Killers” and such, and were considered the baddest, heaviest, meanest smoke around… so it naturally appealed to my self-destructive and nihilistic nature.

Have tried other brands since, especially some of the generic ones when the prices started getting out of control, but always come back to the reds.

Well, I started with Marlboro Reds in '89 (it took me 2 1/2 years of a 4 year Army hitch to start smoking). I switched to Winstons for a while, then Marlboro Lights for the longest time.

Then I discovered Black & Milds in 98, and have stuck with them for the most part until last year.

How is that pronounced??? This has been bugging me for years.

By yourself?

What Bongmaster said.

I have never smoked cigarettes.

I have occasionally smoked other things. This mostly includes cigars, which I smoke very occasionally at special occasions and particularly lavish dinners. I currently live in the small town where I practice medicine, and am disinclined to smoke cigars in public here.

I am partial to good Cuban and Dominican cigars. I also like the small Davidoff cigarillos. I tend to get cigars when I go to Europe (cheaper in France and the Netherlands) or from friends vacationing in Cuba.

Well, he IS the Bongmaster.

I only smoke cigars, and usually only at parties and such. Usually I smoke Garcia y Vegas because they’re not all that expensive and I like them better than the similarly priced alternatives.

Gohl-wahz. That’s Gauloises.

Roll my own. Drum. Can get it everywhere here in Las Vegas.

However, here in the States, people still look at me strangely whey I roll my own cigarettes. Nobody ever batted an eye in Europe. Here I get comments like “my grandfather used to do that” or “bet you’re popular at parties” or “uh, can I borrow a few papers?” or “have cops ever stopped you thiniking it was something else? (the answer is no)” or “can you roll it in your pocket without looking? (no, and I think that is urban legend)”.

Do you have one of those cool rolling machines? Given my limited success with trying to roll… cigarettes, I would think that they’d be necessary. Then again, I guess if my German host family was any indication, practice makes perfect when it comes to rolling… cigarettes.

I tried several different brands before I settled on Camel Lights, and those are only if they don’t sell Special Lights. If I could afford it, I would smoke Exotic Blends every day of the week. My god are those smooth cigarettes. I started smoking when I was 16, because everybody at work did and when they went to have a break I would always have to deal with the customer should one come in. You want us to, like, put out our cigarettes and go make a sandwich?
So I nipped that one in the bud and lit up and made the new kid go take care of them, regardless of whether they smoked or not. Ha. :::cough hack:::

I have never smoked anything besides tobacco either.

-foxy

I only smoke shisha or sheesha or hubbly-bubbly or hookah or whatever your name for it is.

Rolling machines are for beginners. A Dutch woman showed me how to roll, took me all of 20 minutes to learn. And yes, practice does make perfect. However, regarding rolling the other stuff…I suck at it. The quality is different and it is either too brittle, or too fine and powder-like. Then again, I have sadly not had the chance to roll one of those in many, many years.

Not to speak for the master, but what “else” are you talking about? As in, what activities are there that can’t be done while indulging?

Precious little, IMO. As an example, (though possibly a bit extreme), I learned how to downhill ski while on my namesake. (Funner than fun should ever be!)
