That’s what I love about 'em. I hate onions. Hate the crunch, hate the bitterness. But I like Funyums. What’s up with that?!? As a kid I remember my older brothers trying to get into my head that Funyums taste of onion. I didn’t want to hear it. I avoid onions at all costs but will scarf up Funyums.
I have never had them, and it’s not high on my to do list.
Love them, but I don’t eat them very often.
Does anyone remember when the Funyuns bag changed from yellow and green to neon colors? It was back in the 80’s or 90’s, when everything else was neon. I want to say the bag was mostly black and there was green and hot pink and who knows what else? I’ve never come across anyone else who remembers that.
I looooooooove the Flamin’ Hot Funyuns. I might have to get some on my way to work. They are my favorite snackfood ever, barely beating out Hint of Lime Tostitos.
I liked Munchos, too. Anyone remember those?
I had Funyuns for lunch. Mmmm, Funyuns.
I remember that packaging. Can’t find a pic of it now though. (Btw, a google search of neon funyuns brings up your post as the first result.)
Yeah, I saw that post. It’s nearly 10 years old now. You would think that someone would have found a picture of that bag by now.

“Mmmmm… synthetic.”

I’m clearly in the minority, but I thought they were nasty.
Yeah, I mostly think that too, but I think that’s mainly because they’re such an inferior substitute for the real thing.
I’m thinking if they tasted much stronger, it might be too much.
I only buy them once in a great while, because they’re very expensive per weight and they’re never on sale. Wise snacks makes a version that’s cheaper, but not too good.
I like them, and a plus is that they provide a satisfactory replacement for Durkee’s in a gluten-free green bean casserole recipe I use.
Pajedas makes a version that’s pretty good.
