What do your friends and relatives eat that you find to be just plain nasty?

Not me, but my sister hates those frozen chicken patties you put on a sandwich. No idea why considering it’s literally just frozen chicken.

Maybe if they were heated first?

Canned chicken is survival food:

I have had the same reaction to canned pasta my entire life. I was never able to eat Spaghettios, canned ravioli or beefaroni, etc.

I wonder if eating it cold is actually the least objectionable way to consume it? On one hand, it’s congealed glop. But on the other, at least it would cut down on the smell.

I’m the opposite!

I think a doctor told my mother that she should raise all of us on skim (nonfat) milk, so she did - and now anything with more fat just seems weird and has a strange mouthfeel to me.

Not that I DRINK much milk any more, and I can tolerate lowfat on my cereal, but I guess I got ruined at a young age.

To be fair, skim milk has a higher percentage of protein (though they have to fortify it with vitamin D since that’s fat soluble).

Pity you didn’t visit this place!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut_Butter_%26_Co.

Sadly, it has closed. My daughter and I went there once, though. I remember my tongue actually felt SPRAINED by the time I finished whatever I had.

Margarine on a PBJ? Yeccch! Give me butter, please! (Margarine is another item that’s edible only when your survival depends on it.)

Wait, isn’t margarine those “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” products? Or am I thinking of something else?

I agree with this one. Weirdly, the first few times i tried hazelnut coffee i liked it. Maybe because i love hazelnut flavor in, well, hazelnuts and candies, i guess. But then one day i noticed this under flavor of plastic in the hazelnut coffee. And i haven’t been able to drink it since. It just tastes too much like plastic to me.

Onions are disgusting to me, but all of my friends and family love to add onions to any food they eat.

Onions are the most ubiquitous foods in my diet.

Ugh. One of the urns in the company cafeteria always had hazelnut in it. Yuck!

I haven’t eaten margarine since I left home. When I was buying my own food, it was real butter or nothing.

My sister also likes to butter her English muffins or toast before she puts on the peanut butter. It’s just a fat too far for me.

I had a friend whose family would eat peanut butter, butter butter, and honey sandwiches. “Butter butter” is butter. I tried it a few times. Decadent.

Oh, I know it’s tasty, but as I age my tastes don’t always agree with the rest of my body’s reactions.

Eggs. Though I can tolerate scrambled eggs and omelets at times if there is enough other things with it.

I am the opposite, love raw tomatoes but hate cooked/processed one vehemently.

I am ambivalent about hazelnut, vanilla or most other flavoured coffees - I would rarely choose it but would drink it without complaint. I would never buy flavoured milks - you can buy hazelnut and other flavoured milk for coffee. (Bailey’s too, but if I wanted that would use the alcoholic one).

But what I actually dislike is Coffee Mate non-dairy. If not in a survival or basic setting than please use milk or cream.

Although regularly drinking coffee, in one study, reduced mortality by 30%. Which seems too high, but if you have never drunk coffee.

Pork Rinds.

Looks like there’s still hair on them. :eyes: My biggest concern is the fat and salt.

I ate them for awhile in high school and quit.

Onions. They leave a nasty after taste in my mouth. I try to pick out and big pieces with my fork. I always miss a few and have to eat them. I can’t remove food from my mouth in public.
