What does a Russian agent wear?

As some of you know, I am playing Olga in the senior class play The Pink Panther Strikes Back.

Olga is a Russian agent, very beautiful, mysterious, sexy, dangerous…

…anyway, what would she wear? I’m guessing black leather pants would help, but what kind of shirt? I’m not an expert on these things and the play is Friday, so I need some help. Anyone? Anyone?

Remember, this is a school-sanctioned event, so nothing sleazy. This lady’s got class.

Hmmm…maybe wraparound cats eye sunglasses with tortoise shell frames, scarves (babushkas) in Pucci prints, black trench coats, sort of a mod look, maybe?

First off, you need a trenchcoat – black, tan or even white.

You need a broad-brimmed hat pulled low over your eyes.

Dress entirely in black. If you’re beutiful, mysterious and sexy, you want a beautiful, mysterious and sexy black dress, black stockings, black high heel shoes.

A cigaret holder lends a more exotic air than, say, a can of Skoal.

Leather and boots are acceptable but try to avoid going overboard – you’re a spy, not a dominatrix.

And of course, dark glasses.

If I recall my movies correctly, I think you need to wear a fur coat with nothing on underneath. You should probably post some pictures for us. You know, to see if you have the costume right…

At the time the movie was released, it became an instant favorite of mine! I wish our school plays were based on something like this - what fun!

I think the fur coat is excellent, you also need one of those furry hats to match.

(a) Your school (or at least the drama department) rocks.

(b) Considering how over the top it is, I agree that you want to be as conspicuous as possible as an AGENT! Your outfit should scream AGENT! I recommend you taek inspiration from the Marvel comic book “Daredevil,” and look at the picture of the Russian spy Black Widow by following this link (ignore the woman with the white fur coat):

Over the top? Hell, yeah! Does it scream “Arrest me, I’m a foreign agent (or a streetwalker)?” Of course! Which makes it perfect for the over-the-top world of Inspector Clouseau. Bonus if you can find a long red-haired wig for the part. Good luck!
