It’s a small town in Portugal (see 2/3 of the way down the page).
No idea why Amazon should use it - looks like they’ve named one of their scripts Obidos. Maybe one of the web people comes from there?

Heh, I like it. (In defence of my wayward guess, I’ll claim that Obidos in Brazil is named after Obidos in Portugal - stands to reason.)
