What does this symbol mean?

Google is displaying a doodle today that was submitted by a teenage girl as part of a contest. The doodle is a group of young people representing different groups. They’re wearing t-shirts with symbols representing different religions and sexual orientations.

I recognize most of the symbols but one of them is e= which I don’t know. What does this symbolize?

Here’s a link to the image.

My first thought is Euler’s number, but that’s not a religion.

I don’t know for sure but maybe it stands for equality.

I think it’s a version of “E for Equality”, a proposed universal logo for human rights.

I just assumed that he was a scientist (e=mc2), and represented non-religious people.

Good to know that Google will be accepted in tomorrow’s egalitarian society.

All billionaires and evil tentacle-corps are created equal. It’s right there in their handbook.

Ohhh, you meant equality with the rest of us?!? Sorry.

I think she added e because the symbols roughly spell out GOOGLE.

= didnt look much like E, and E didnt strongly indicate equality. So she put e=

G for Gay is also contrived by her. Maybe she meant G for googlians.

I automatically assumed the e= stood for equality. I couldn’t figure out the G. I guess it’s to spell out Google and upthread someone said gay, so I guess it is a little forced but the whole spells google.

The G is also a rainbow so the LGBT connection is pretty clear.

The G is a minimalized version of the Google Gayglers logo that moves the rainbow to the G, to fit the new branding.

This is what I assumed.

Accidentally left out the word “probably” here.
