What does your username mean?

Anyone care to take a guess on “c_carol”? (Hint: it is not, as some people have guessed, an indication that I s_s_s_stutter.)

How many times have we done this thread, anyway?

Part of first name morphed with “odin.”

We have done this thread before, but I for one, don’t mind doing it again. After all their are always new additions to the SDMB family, and as long as this type of thread doesn’t come more than 1 or 2 a month (not on average, BTW), I’m a happy camper.

As for your C. I’m guessing it’s because of what is commonly referred to as “sea Caroling”, whereupon a group of people go out into the ocean, on sailing barges, and try to make the fishies happy by singing Christmas carols to them. Generally these C_Carolers are not the best singers and that’s partially the reason the are sent to that, not so choice, assignment.

I pulled ‘fizgig’ out of 2000 Most Challenging and Obscure Words** late one night when I was trying to register, and a few other names I tried were already taken.

It means: “a gadabout, giddy, flighty, frivolous, flirtatious, fretful, flustered female; a damp firework that gous off with a loud hiss, a flimsy knicknack; a crotchet, whine, or quirk; a harpoon; a spinning or whirling toy that makes a loud whizzing sound.”

I think it’s amply versatile.

What does your username mean ?
nothing, man

Well actually its my favorite Pearl Jam song.

Tremendously exciting right ?

I got roadkiller from the fact that I’m (unfortunately) very prone to hit small animals and birds with my car. That’s the roadkill part. Now roadkiller means that I am a pretty bad driver, I tend to hit things that I could easily avoid hitting. So I consider myself a slight hazard to the road. Now I have never actually hit another car, mind you, but still… beware the side streets when roadkiller is behind the wheel

Comes from a phrase used by my fiancee. He is one of these verrry deliberate people who ponder and ponder before making a decision. He says that if two or three ideas hit at once, the whole process slows down… as in: “It all turns to 90-weight”.

I used it for my aol screen name, and in chats there folks call me “90” or “nine” for short. I have grown fond of it and it feels like a real name for me.

whuckfistle guessed it correctly, when he referred to me as “GEARLUBE” instead of NinetyWt.

Oohh my first post! Been lurking here for months—always wondered which post I would choose to post first at, never figured it would be a name one.

 Hakuna Matata!
 What a wonderful phrase
 Hakuna Matata!
 Ain't no passing craze

 It means no worries
For the rest of your days
 It's our problem-free philosophy
 Hakuna Matata!

from the Lion King–my daughter was watching it and it sort of stuck in my head----I had signed up under another name—but had it changed to this. Not really sure why, just seemed right at the time. Guess I try to live my life with a no worry attitude as best I can.

I picked it because I am – or at least aspire to be – a twickster, uh, trickster, and I like the Elmer Fuddiness of the spelling. Needed a number where I first used it (Pogo) so picked my age. Like most of you, it’s my standard username.

I think mine is pretty self explanatory. I wanted to be Succedaneum, but someone already had that. I was bummed, but I like this one now. It’s not my standard screename, though. Just my SDMB one.

I chose Wildcatz because of my affinity for all cats, my 6 cats are all wild in various degrees and people tell me that my personality is one of a cat. My nic has always been ‘Cat’ as far back as I remember and I don’t think I have ever had an internet ID that didn’t have something to do with the beasties.

'catz

I picked my name because when I was little She-Ra Princess of Power was my idle. However, when I was typing out my username and I forgot to capitolize the “R”. Oh well.

This is great! This song is often in my head for no know reason… Just find myself humming it. Quite catchy.

Welcome to the boards. Enjoy your stay

And yes, even though this thread has been done many times, with the ever growing population of the SDMB, it’s nice to see the reasoning behind names. Besides, even people who’ve been here a while are still curious about some people’s names and hope they post.

My username is my job.

Glad you asked. You see…I’m kinda like a guy who wears pants. Difficult concept I know. But I figured if I wear pants, why not share that with the world? I am in a way (bear with me) “That guy with pants”…get it? yeah I knew you would. good job!

This is my former AOL handle without 13 or 72 attached. Simplicity, I know.

Around Thanksgiving I seriously considered changing it to Captain Rocko to reflect my rash of posts featuring me as that character. But there weren’t enough posts for a serious need to change Usernames and the Captain Rocko series started to fade and is currently in need of resurrection.

I use to drive race cars and I preferred the number 72 because Benny Parsons used the same number.

First name, middle initial, last initial.
I just wanted to keep it simple and easy to remember.

My original MSN handle. All those years ago…meaningless, personal acronym.

Whoah, I knew you had pants, but I didn’t realize you actually wore them.
