What electronic gizmos do you have?

Forgot to elucidate the * - both are sync’d with outlook. The Phone is more a phone, the PDA is more a book reader that lets me never get lost (maps of the western 2/3rds of the US) While they both want to be your primary PDA, their strengths dovetail nicely.

Actually, both of these things connect to the same idea. A watch, a real watch, an automatic or a winder, is real in a way that software isn’t and quartz mimics very poorly; you can hear it, see it, feel it ticking if you want to. A film camera just has this comfortable, highly tactile quality to it. You pull the advance lever, and there’s tension in the machine, a click as you pull the next exposure into place. I have a Nikon F3T and I’ve never found a digital camera that felt the same way.

I also like the way film grains up - film graininess has a sort of organic, random feel to it, but digital grain is just dead, sterile and blocky. But that’s secondary; if I could afford to digi-back a good film camera, I might change over on grounds of convenience.

iBook G4
Old school 15 gig iPod (2nd gen maybe? It was free)
PalmOne Tungsten E (also free - mom’s work conference, she didn’t want it, she uses a leather bound thing)
Lexar 256 mb flash drive
LG camera phone
Canon SD10 4 megapixel digital camera
Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus graphing calculator I bought in high school

I think that’s it. Next purchase: Nikon D50 (anyone wanna donate? ha)
