What exactly happened here? All I could see is that he was
asking in a somewhat roundabout way to start a discussion
of that song, or the group that performs it, or the style of music. I don’t think he meant to create work for the moderators; I think he just wanted anybody with a factoid or
opinion to weigh in.

Here’s the OP in it’s entirety:

There is no General Question there. It does not ask who performed it, or the style of music, or anything else. The forum descriptions are not that difficult to read.

For example, issues regarding the administration of this website belong it the Pit. So that’s where I’m moving this thread.

Um, far be it from me to question the thinking of the mods, but does a General Question get bumped just because it’s a stupid and poorly worded General Question? And is the Pit just a place to dump shit so you don’t have to look at it?

Probably not. But if it is so poory written that there isn’t a question there, which is what Manhattan actually said, then yes, delete it.

Plain and simple - I fucked up. I most definitely posted in the wrong forum. I could have made it a general question, but that wasn’t my intention. And to make matters worse, I had a poorly placed and chosen smilie, which would indicate to an overworked mod that I did it on purpose, which would be the reason for the snippy remark from manny.

Lately I’ve been doing a bit too much hijacking and such. I’m afraid I’m bordering on trollish as of late. Sorry mods.

All true, but what that should have got you was a smart-assed remark instead of a warning. The thread caught me after reviewing 100 threads that had accumulated in just the prior 12 hours, including many that had to be moved or moderated, so I was a little extra churlish.

So yeah, you shouldn’t have done what you did, but I shouldn’t have over reacted, either.
