I was sick last week and thought I’d play Angry Birds while laying in bed. What the heck happened to the original game? It’s a complete mess with tickets to play and only scoring points, not just destroying all the pigs. There’s only a limited number of times you can play in a day, pointless for someone who wants to play it for hours. Finally, it seems you’re forced to watch an ad every few minutes. I paid for Angry Birds in 2011. Now, it seems like it’s the worst freemium game in the world.
It does look like Angry Birds seasons is still somewhat like the original, except with annoying ads.
Assuming this is Angry Birds 2, the most recent one, the tickets and the importance of scores is part of the arena where you play against other people. In the saga map it is more traditional Angry Birds with the objective to pop pigs before you run out of birds. The score, I believe, is related to the chance you have to get an extra bird (when the meter fills up).
The lives thing … I’m not a fan of that in any game. But you do only lose a life if you fail a level. And they refill pretty fast. We wouldn’t have these issues/mechanics if the public paid for things, but in the race to the bottom people have expected things to come for free. The developers have to make money somehow.
Yeah at some point they made awful changes to the original Angry Birds. I’m not even sure how it works exactly now and don’t play it anymore. I do enjoy Angry Birds 2.
Like you I also paid for it so I resent having the game gutted like that but I find it hard t go back to the older games after playing 2 for so long anyway.
