What happened to the "Marino, Eli..." thread in Game Room?

There was a thread started yesterday about quarterbacks that seems to have disappeared. I’m just curious as to what happened to it.

That was a newcomer right? His style seemed familiar. I think that might explain it.

Yes, a sock account of a banned poster. So it was sent into the cornfield by the mod that caught the sock.

That’s disappointing, because it was perfectly cromulent post.

Well, if it was worth having, it would be worth a legitimate poster in good standinghint, hint re-creating it.

It had multiple posts from multiple legitimate posters. You can’t just re-create it.

Indeed, I had a sneaking suspicion it was the Yankees dude.

Thanks for the response. I should have guessed it.

If a sock drops a good post or garbage, it should always be as if the sock was never here at all. Scorched-earth damnatio memoriae.

If it matters to anyone besides the sock, someone should take it up again. The original is irreconcilably gone. Either it’s worth re-creating or it’s not.

I think that if a sock comes back and posts good, decent threads, it should be allowed.

If the sock is back to troll, no. But sports is fine.

If it was who I think it was, he started a lot of sports-related threads in The Game Room, and he was pretty trolly in a lot of those, too.

No legitimate poster should have their work disappear without comment or explanation.

Why scorched earth? That doesn’t even make sense. At least with a scammer you’re theoretically protecting the members from a scam. If this is just a regular banned poster, you’re essentially protecting some people on the internet from a different person on the internet who doesn’t play by the made-up rules of the first people on the internet. So again, why scorched earth?

If you’re a sock, you’re a scammer.

Question was asked and answered. I’m going to close the thread at this point.
