What happened to the post preview panel? (originally asked about Sam's Simple Theme, but seems to affect all of them)

For both my PC & my phone, even with this recent revision when the input/edit post panel is minimized, it is still visible, just like it was a week ago. It’s appears as full-width stripe across the bottom of the window / screen in a contrasting color containing the reply curved arrow icon and the thread title at far left, and a close X icon at far right.

As noted, in my previous post, that is true on my Win11 PC with Edge, and on my Android with Chrome. I use the Discourse Classic theme.

I wonder what device, browser, and theme you’re using that the minimize function disappears the whole post.

I do know that historically if you open a fresh post, type nothing, then minimize it, the empty draft post is simple closed and deleted. But once it has at least one keystroke in it, it behaves as I’ve described above.

For me. YMMV of course and I’d like to learn more about your setup & symptoms.

I’m using Straight Dope Light with Firefox and Win 11 both on a desktop and laptop.

The box goes to a blue line with no box showing. There used to be a portion of a box still visible.

Oh. I failed to correctly understand you. My apologies.

Under my theme, the colored line (blue in my case) was all that ever showed. There was no sliver of input box. Not before, and not now.

But this is a useful wake-up call for all of us that the 9 different themes have very different appearences.

That’s OK. That any questions get answered with all the possible variables is amazing. I’m still trying to figure out why I see a cookie on my laptop but not with the same setup on my desktop.

That’s a different thread, but decent bet is some difference in browser or ad blocking configuration.
