I just checked my email, and got an auto-notification for a thread I was participating in, Minnesota Vikings.
Now, it was already in the pit, so I’m wondering why it has been completely removed to the moderators’ forum, far from prying eyes.
Remembering how viscious the Steelers thread got last year with nary a peep from the mods, I can’t even begin to imagine what was said that was so bad that the entire thread had to be nuked.
It was just a regular old thread two days ago. I can understand closed, but removed from the board altogether?
Posted by a returning banned poster. As is customary, all but one of the threads started by the individual have been removed.
In response to requests from the TM in an earlier incident, the one thread started by that poster which has developed a large and interesting discussion with minimal participation by that poster has been permitted to stay on the board.
New thread. No link available to original thread, obviously, just an effort to keep the thing going. Probably, realized about 8 micro-seconds after hitting submit, cause for a warning as it really doesn’t contain substance for an OP.
I believe I have seen that sentiment posted a time or two.
However, this is not an example of a rule; it is an example of a practice.
When socks return, particularly when they flood the board with threads, it is generally with the intention of calling attention to themselves. Removing their posts reduces the amount of attention that they receive.
It should not be that difficult to discover the numerous threads in ATMB where this practice has been discussed ad nauseam, so Iam not going to recap or defend any particular postion. A question was asked and answered. All else is commentary.
So for those of us who couldn’t watch the game last week [sub]thank god[/sub]… Why the fuck did Tice go for two down 30+ points at the end of the fourth quarter? I swear he learned how to coach by playing PlayStation.
Did anyone see the bit on the daily Show last night about the “Packelope?” That Viking fan seemed pretty cool but that Packelope guy seemed like a loser.
