What happens if an SDSAB member gets banned?

Are they still allowed to contribute to Staff Reports?

So far as I know, there has been only one case where this happened. In that case, though, the Powers that Be wanted the banned staffer to have nothing at all further to do with the Straight Dope, in any capacity, and the staffer was upset enough that I doubt she would have wanted to. I think all of the threads relating to that incident are probably gone, by now, though (it was back in 1999 or 2000).

We hope that such a situation doesn’t come up in the future. Entry into the SDSAB is based on a number of factors (including Message Board behavior) that we hope will insulate us against such an event.

If it did arise, I think it would depend on a lot on individual circumstances.

God help us if Cecil Adams gets banned…

The Straight Dope and SDMB would vanish.

Up it’s own arsehole
