I manage to go buy a brand new car.
Ok, sure, I’d been thinking about one for a while - and come to the decision that I could afford one. So it’s not entirely the fault of the boards going down.
It’s a 2006 Ford Focus, toreador red. Very pretty. And for the first time since 1998, I have a car payment to budget for. And I’m sitting here with my budget program open - and soon I’ll set up the automatic payment from my checking account so I don’t even have to think about mailing the payment in.
Actually, it was prboasbly good they were down, sicne I jsut got back from a few datys off for the holiday and had a good amount of work I had to catch up on.
I did laundry and posted some pics for my inlaws to see. And surfed some other sites. And played some games. Not as exciting a buying a car, but it’s the best I can do.
I cleaned my house, did laundry, ironed and made a big pot of jambalya for friends who are coming over for dinner tomorrow night. Dang! It made a day off work actually productive.
Good thing the board is back up so I’ll have something to do at work tomorrow.
I have a 12" Abe Sapien figurine that has a variant head and changeable clothes, so I switch him around every once in awhile. Well, his flimsy vinyl belt broke awhile ago, but I happened to have leather that was exactly the same colour, so I made him a new belt. It looked almost identical too! As I was trying to put it on him, the crappy ass plastic belt buckle broke. That I can’t fix, so he’s now beltless. Eventually I’ll order another figurine (I know I was inviting trouble by taking him out of the package, but he just looks so cool posed on my desk in an action-like position…
I hung around mostly at SA, did a little work (at my job, no less…miracles never cease!), kept checking back here, and then went home. Well, I went home after I was stuck in traffic for over an hour, and took my kid to a friend’s house. In fact, I’m just now getting home.
Good on ya for the new car, Lsura. I want a new one myself…maybe you’ve inspired me to believe I can tough it out with a car payment for the first time in oh gosh…five years or longer. I do like not having those, though.
