Like others, I’m going to list the people who leap to mind, but I’m sure that I’ll be leaving people out and I admit my suckitude up front.
For the 2002 ChiDope, Hamadryad graciously met me at the airport so I’d have a friendly face and a companion for navigating to the hotel in an unfamiliar city. Jarbabyj was a wonderful hostess who nursed my paranoia and made sure I got a cab from her place back to the airport in time for my flight home.
Akatsukami sent me a most wonderful birthday gift (the soundtrack to Hedwig and the Angry Inch…w00t!) out of the blue after talking a bunch of times in chat.
One of my best online friends, Wicky, sent me a care package full of miscellaneous goofy sushi novelty items, such as sushi lollipops, a sushi keychain and wind-up marching sushi. I heart Wicky.
One of my other best online friends, Zette, returned my favor of teaching her to crochet by teaching me to knit a few weeks ago. Like her, it’s turned into at least a minor obsession. Plus, she likes to drink Zima and I like not feeling alone in that particular guilty pleasure.
There was a litany of people who sent me good wishes via my LJ and by snailmail after my breast reduction surgery…but the absolute best was the handmade card from delphica that had two cutout antlered deer on the front with one saying to the other “Nice rack!” I laughed and laughed. Oh! And laserkitty sent me her very own Geeky Girl mirror compact after I started using the GG logo in LJ…she da bomb!
Man, there’s so much…vix and SuaSponte indulged my penchant for trekking out to MOMA in Queens to see the Picasso/Matisse exhibit last spring, and Billdo put me up for the kabbes mini NY fest (and accompanied me to MOMA yet again for the Ansel Adams exhibit, and sent me a whole set of marching sushi after my surgery!).
Zappo bought me sushi, which is always aces in my book.
I could go on and on. Again, I apologize for anything I’ve forgotten. Y’all rawk.
