No one is going to indict Clinton.
That being said, I think Bush’s new campaign slogan is funny: You have to elect someone who can beat Hillary Clinton.
Something the current GOP clown car is ignoring.
That’s my understanding as well. It’s just a “regular” investigation.
Worked for Martha Stewart!
Welcome back, Phlosphr. Been a while!
As I always suspected: the Pointy-haired boss is, indeed the master GOP strategest in this Dilbert strip (re: last panel).
We did that in 2008 and the Republicans have been complaining about it ever since.
I believe the stated focus was always related to possible spillage of classified information not criminal violations. Nothing about that prevents indictment if they find evidence of a crime along the way. These are still law enforcement personnel.
Indicted? Shit, what if she’s pregnant?! And, say, like she’s visiting Israel when her plane has to make an emergency landing at Bethlehem, and all the hotels are full, so…
what if pigs fly?
Then they’ll fight an air-war with the monkeys. 50 quatloos on the monkeys. Fly, me pretties!
[THUMP-THUMP-THUMP]
Continue the research.
What if Donald Trump and Ben Carson are both involuntarily committed to a mental hospital (which actually seems more likely)? I can see the Donald being committed for treatment of a Messiah complex and anger management issues, and Carson for the syndrome that psychiatric professionals technically refer to as “being crazier than a March hare”.
What then?
Clinton won’t be indicted. If the FBI recommends charges, the Justice Department will simply decline to pursue the case. But if the FBI did recommend charges, she’d be guilty in 80% of the public’s eyes and would have no chance of getting elected.
That’s why this is such a strange roll of the dice on the Democratic Party’s part. There are many outcomes short of indictment that can doom Clinton’s chances. Yet there’s no backup plan. Hopefully we don’t see the silly spectacle of Democrats on Oct. 30 going to court to get her removed from the ballot and replacing her with Biden because “America deserves a choice!”
Don’t the people taking this seriously seem tired to you? I’m concerned for them.
Although most of those scenarios require as a step somewhere “Republicans nominate sane, electable candidate,” a step which they currently seem determined to avoid.
With Fox News and its viewers spending the day after Hillary’s inauguration explaining that the GOP candidate would’ve won if the “lamestream media” hadn’t covered up email-gate. And Benghazi-gate. And Vince Foster-gate. And, of course, any-other-random-thing-we-can-seize-on-between-now-and-November-gate.
Republican’s sweaty desperation and impotent rage is highly entertaining.
Oh yeah. I am sure that would be just horrible for you to see.Ha ha.
You have a most entertaining imagination.
What makes it doubly strange is that few people really like Hillary. Even many Democrats are irritated by her aristocratic attitude. Bill Clinton & Obama at least have charisma, and come across as likeable people. It seems like the only people that get excited about Hillary are 60-year-old female college professors. Most Dems are just going to vote for her because she’s not the Republican candidate. The general public thinks of her as an untrustworthy (look at any recent public opinion poll). Her reaction to every scandal has been a master’s course in bad public relations management. The Democratic party has made a very curious choice of baskets to put all its eggs in. Joe Biden is more likeable by far, and Bernie Sanders would at least be a relatively inoffensive choice that would avoid Hillary’s considerable baggage. But they’re being kicked to the curb.
Dubya was likable. What did that give us?
