What IS beauty?

Inspired by this thread, what is beauty?

First I’ll say, I like blonds, redheads only slightly less. I like light-colored eyes, bigger is better. What man doesn’t like a woman with a killer figure? Big boobies and an hourglass figure.

But it isn’t that at all for me. It’s all attitude. It’s a certain look… yeah, I’ll be as bad as you (and I) want. I’m no angel. I KNOW what I want and I’ll get it.

You can take the “most beautiful woman” and she might not have it. You can take the homliest* woman and she might have it. Give me the woman with the “catch me, [have] me” look.

Anybody agree? Disagree?

*no offense intended to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

On further inspection, this may have been better suited for IMHO. Mods call…

And on further further inspection… :stuck_out_tongue: How sexist do I sound? I won’t comment on what is beautiful in men, I don’t think they’re particularly beautiful at all. :stuck_out_tongue: But women’s opinions are most welcome too!

I think a lot of beauty is all attitude, an average looking girl that actually has personality and a voice is very attractive. On the physical level I am really attracted to brunettes and really even more to girls that have about shoulder length, dark almost black hair. Whenever I see movies from the seventies the women seem so beautiful to me.

Beauty is truth.

Sadness is beauty

Truth is sadness?

That would be the sad truth.

Moved to IMHO. samclem

I’ve seen and known beautiful people who aren’t beautiful for long because they show their true selves behind the perfection. And I’ve known others who are beautiful and remain so through life’s tribulations.

So … for me, I’d say beauty is what goes beyond the first glance.

Beauty is something that makes you do a double-take.
Beauty is something that makes you want to be with that person.

Beauty is physical of course, but an obnoxious person who is good looking quickly becomes very ugly.

And “truth beauty, that is all ye know on Earth, and all ye need know”.
