What is Currently Making You Happy?

I survived a vicious workload these past few weeks and actually managed to stay slightly ahead of everything. Yay, me!

Much needed (and much delayed] work on the house has gone really well. Huge progress! My new bathroom is gorgeous, the dining room ceiling has been replaced and three rooms downstairs are almost ready to paint.

I’m eating sensibly and exercising again. Losing weight and feeling stronger again, and it feels great.

The backyard and gardens are spruced up so now I can enjoy the gorgeous spring weather out there.

My beloved Shepherd/Lab will be 14 soon but she’s still healthy and happy. Slower, sure, and definitely white around the muzzle but the happy pooch smile and wagging tail haven’t faded. Every day I have with her is a blessing.

Basically it just feels so good to get so many nagging, worrisome tasks done. Life in an attractive, decluttered home is so danged pleasant.

Seconded on both counts.

Are you going to attend USF, FSU, or someplace else?

Drugs.

Oh, how cute. Yes, basic instructions would be good, especially the ratio for the circumference of each ‘tier’. I can’t seem to figure it out, and my bottom tier’s gathers never match the middle tier’s gathers. Thanks! My email’s in my profile.

I’m really contemplating joining the Peace Corps and the Dope boards are back up (after a hiccup in the day).
That is all for now.

We live in Oregon!

Our first wedding anniversary is this weekend.

I just took a nap.

It’s 66 degrees and sunny. PERFECT weather.

Automatix, and the wonderful and illegal codecs it allows me to use in my new Ubuntu installation!

What’s making me happy right now?

I just got back from seeing Garbage Warrior at the Hot Docs documentary festival here in Toronto. It’s a movie about the crusading architect who evolved the first design of the houses that my friends and I are learning to build, and it was fascinating to see the man in motion and see the history and adventures and struggles and triumphs that he’s gone through. It’s not just me and my friends in a vacuum after all!

That’s making me quite happy and creative. That and the fact that before the movie I went to the Toronto Reference Library and copied gobs of heating calculations and stuff out of the ASHRAE Handbook. I WILL learn to do this.

It’s my “sweet sixteen”
… and no, I didn’t get a big party or a car. But hey- it’s my birthday! that’s enough to make me happy!

It’s a lovely warm sunny day, and I’m pregnant, and awaiting a doctor’s checkup and third verification test.

I just found out Friday.

Okay, it’s making me happy and terrified together.

Today is my baby boy’s first birthday! I can hardly believe it. I was really worried and anxious about being a mom (mostly because of my own childhood), but I am thrilled to say that I love it!

He is the most precious and amazing person I have ever known. He makes me smile all the time with his wild curly blonde hair, four snaggly teeth, and funny scrinched-up face that he makes. I love nothing more than holding him, whether I’m nursing him or he’s falling asleep or he bonked his head and needs some mommy-love. Right now he’s sitting on the couch with Dadada because Dadada was out last night and he doesn’t want anything to do with me!

le sigh

I could go on for pages, but I don’t want to bore y’all. Besides, I need some breakfast before I start prepping things for his party.

(I plan on starting a new thread and posting pictures later. It’s still early.)

Oh -

We got our federal tax refund on Friday. Woo hoo! This was the first time in four years that we got a refund at all, so that $2377 was a nice surprise. (Home-based business + baby = cash back  )

My husband has finished all of the hard gardening work. Now the only things left to do are plant the shade garden, build some trellises, and wait a couple of weeks to plant the rest of the veggies. After three years, our yard is finally looking like we want it to.

Happy Birthday!!!
