Like so many things recently, I had to double check this as it appeared so over the top I assumed it was parody. God help us.
Its possible he knows his IQ but doesn’t know how IQ testing is scored. Maybe he thinks 100 is the top possible score. And he thinks he’s the winner of smart, amazingly off the charts smart, smarter than the smartest person ever, because he scored a 102.
and I’m actually being halfway serious here.

I really don’t it’s trump IQ we have to worry about ! I think it more the IQ of his supporters that voted for him ! Someone just posted on another forum I use that trump " is doing a good job for the country and there nothing to worry about" . DAMN I am really worried after reading that !
It’s not so much “bumbled” as that these things aren’t IQ tests. We may as well ask how someone could be a successful basketball player if they don’t have a high IQ.
Better would be, yes, a formal IQ test or failing that just listen to the guy: when has he ever demonstrated nuance or detailed understanding or even quick wits on anything? Best example from the thousands of hours of tape we have on him is…?
Hey, one of the great features of a democracy is the half of the population at and below 100IQ have just as much say and need to be pandered to as all the intellectual giants.

Being a successful (professional) basketball player has a very high hurdle of physical ability as a necessary condition. To which the greatest players add an intuitive mental ‘basketball IQ’ to distinguish themselves. Not a very good comparison IMO to differing applications of mental skill which don’t require very rare physical capability to apply.
No Trump’s concrete successes are not IQ tests, obviously. But they are applications of mental talent. And they have required in fact quick (intuitive) wits to come up with what sells to followers (in his entertainment life) and voters. The fact his insights might be completely lost on you or me, or anathema to us, doesn’t mean he didn’t get ahead of other real estate/entertainers or politicians on his wits.
And like I said, I don’t have personal data to correlate people’s apparent mental acuity in practical terms from IQ scores. Trump might have a low or high IQ score, I don’t know. But in his way he’s very clever, that’s for sure, IMO.
Figure he focused for a respectable stretch on live television during the debates.
Reagan “flawlessly” covered for the loss of live reports from the game by having the batter foul off pitches for half an hour. He might as well have reported that a herd of wildebeest had stampeded on the field and trampled the pitcher’s mound.
No, that would be a stupid thing to do because he had no way of knowing exactly how long the wire transmission would be dead for.
