$2.86/gallon for Regular unleaded. Last week it was $2.74.
I’m in New England (CT, specifically).
What is gas going for around your neighborhood?
You don’t have to reveal your locale if you don’t want to!
We understand.

US$6.25/litre, at the last count.
$2.89/g
$2.80/gallon for regular unleaded.
In Oregon where I live, it ranges from $2.66 at the cutrate stations to $2.75 at the stations right next to the freeway interchanges.
Just looked at the price… it’s $2.75/gallon here in Evansville IN.
The cheap stuff seems to go for a little over $3 in Honolulu. Although I’ve seen a few places a little under.
hmmm, doing a little conversion…
$6.25/liter X 3.8 liters/gallon = $24.00gallon
am I missing something, or is gas just wicked expensive where you are?
Bollocks, you’re right, overconversion (or underconverstion) - it’s $6.25/gallon
$2.78/g, or so. I was in DC last night and saw a couple places more in the $2.98/g range.
still wicked expensive…
Can I ask- I assume you’re in the UK somewhere- do you folks use your car less than most of us do in the states?
When I’ve been in England we hardly used a car- used the tube to get around London, the train to get between towns (London to York, York to Liverpool etc), or just walked.
It’s very hard in the US to find other ways to get around. Does gas price have an impact on car usage?
$2.89 - $2.95 in eastern Ohio
A$1.30/litre
(US$3.60/gallon)
…and rising.
You’re right that I’m in the UK (my ‘location’ is easy to Google )…
Tourists have it easy! London is easy without a car, and most other tourist destinations are too. However, if you choose to live in the sticks, the only option is a car. I clock up about 300 miles a week through my job, and that’s through travelling to various schools within the county I live in. But for anything long-distance, I’d automatically take the train, and I don’t think I’d even consider any other option (actually, even if I did, I’d dismiss them as too expensive).
Yes, fuel costs have an impact on everyday life. But we’re familiar with other higher costs, too (17.5% sales tax, and a general higher cost of living) so the cost of fuel is something most people can deal with.
We’re not. We’re doing it tough.
Although we have much cheaper fuel than England, it’s more expensive than the States, and is double what it was about eight years ago. When this huge price rise hit us, we were left looking silly with big sprawling suburban cities, awful public transport, large 4 litre 6 cylinder cars and 4WDs, and towns hundred of miles apart.
I used to drive to see my mum, 360 kilometres away. Now I’d take the train and bus, or maybe even fly.
The airlines are doing really well here now. Everyone flies everywhere.
Prices in New Zealand. Scroll down to latest as at end March. Nifty graphs here.
2.82/gallon at Chevron. 2.81/gallon at Krogers. WV
The lowest price I saw today for regular, 87 octane unleaded was $2.759.
I’m sure it will keep going up, after all summer is the time for road trips!
CDN$1.08/litre, = $4.08 a gallon.
Around $3 a gallon, as I was shocked to discover last night.
