What is gas going for in your hometown?

It’s running 2.69 to 2.79 around Austin, Tx today.

$2.69/gal in St Louis on 4/17. Using MetroLink [light rail public transport] & my bike to & from work today. Will try to do it Friday also.

$2.759 for 10% ethanol here this morning - ethanol is subsidized to the tune of about four cents per gallon.

It’s becoming a problem for the middleman, too. A friend who is an oil jobber tells me that a gas transport load represents about $22,000 and that he has two small town convenience stores that are into him for $150,000 each. With oil companies posting astounding profits we can anticipate a reckonings this fall if something doesn’t change pretty soon, simply because the cost of gasoline will have to be spread across the economy and it’s bound to show up as increased cost for just about everything from lettice to home loans.

$2.71/gal self-serve regular at the corner of my block. Steadily up, although not as fast as the beginning of the month, since the Consumer Affairs Dept. made some ugly faces at the gas distributors.

$2.799 for ethanol and $2.859 for regular this noon. All three stations in town have the same price. Four cent jump in 24 hours. $49.13 to fill my nearly empty tank. :frowning:

As of this morning, I saw one station at $2.639, with most others at $2.699.

$2.79 today, and the guy at the local Co-op station said to expect $3.50 in the next couple of weeks.
