As Askia notes, it’s in the supplemental material, specifically a letter to Sally from her agent and future husband, Larry Schexnayder. The letter, which is in the supplement to #9 (just before the Playboy interview), is dated February 3rd, 1948.

Nelly called last night, upset over yet another tiff with H.J. Those two are getting worse. The more they row and act like an old married couple in public, the harder they are to cover for. I know that you’ve provided a pretty steady alibi for H.J. up to now… but it can’t last much longer. Nelly says he’s always out when Nelly calls, out with boys, and apparently there’s a lot of rough stuff going on. One of these punks only has to go to the cops… and it would be the Silhouette fiasco all over again.

Nelly is Lieutenant Nelson Gardner, USMC, a/k/a Captain Metropolis. His identity is revealed on the previous page. H.J. is Hooded Justice, obviously.
