To answer seriously, GB is currently a more casual board than the SDMB. Part of that is the smaller size (around 30% of the daily posts of the SDMB, don’t know what the ratio of active users is), part of that is the different rule sets, part of that is the a-holes in charge. It’s obviously not going to be everyone’s cup of tea – some people prefer the structure and culture here. It was never intended to be a clone of the SDMB – what would be the point? We’ve already got an SDMB. But I think it’s turning into a pretty fun place to post.
It should be noted that because all are welcome, this is going to include some people who were banned from here or just don’t like it any more. This doesn’t make us a protest board or a snark board or anything like that. In fact, I’d be delighted if anyone who read anti-SDMB or anti-(some SDMB poster) comments on GB that they disagreed with signed up an account and told their author what an asshole they were – I’m all about the free speech. (We don’t really care about socks, so feel free to make a dummy account if you just want to vent.)
