What is the longest amount of time you've kept a netflix DVD?

I’ve only had Netflix for a few months so I still have rapid turnover for the most part but I’m sure people who’ve had it (or a similar service) longer probably don’t watch movies as vociferously as they used to. I’ve had one DVD for a couple of weeks. I keep hearing that Battlestar Gallactica is a good show and I haven’t felt like watching it yet but I keep meaning to.

I don’t know about vociferously but I quietyly kept a movie for well over a month. Then I put my account on hold and mailed it back without watching it. Can’t even remember what the movie was.

I have been a Netflix customer a couple different times. I join for a year, then drop out for a while. Longest I’ve ever kept a movie is about a week. That tends to be what leads to me dropping the service for a bit.

9 months.

So long that they sent me an e-mail telling me to keep it and they are suspending my account since I paid for it several times over. It sat on the to-be-mailed pile for months and months and months and, well, we sort of forgot about it.

I kept Life is Beautiful for about three months. I wanted to see it, but knew it was depressing so kept putting it off.

This was a few years ago and other than asking me if it was lost, they didn’t seem concerned at all (I was watching and returning other discs while holding on to this one).

I have the one-disc-at-a-time plan. I’m too busy to justify paying more to have more discs sitting around.

Longest I’ve had the one disc sitting around is three weeks. For the record, it was Gray Gardens, the documentary about the Bouvier mother-and-daughter duo that was turned into the Broadway musical.

The MST3K version of “Manos - The Hands of Fate” - just about a year  I moved before I could watch it & never got around to it until a few weeks ago.

VCNJ~

I may be coming up on 2 years with Hotel Rwanda. I know it’s over a year. We have the 3-disc plan and my husband keeps watching stuff. Every time I have some free time it seems too depressing. But I feel guilty sending it back to get something more lighthearted without watching what is supposed to be such a good movie. I actually had watching it on my to-do list on my Palm pilot for a while. Thanks to this thread I am setting a new deadline: May 15th.

About six months. I got The Man Who Laughs back in mid-October, and only watched and returned it about a week ago. I just couldn’t psych myself up to watch it, so I kept watching and returning other stuff. Finally I got in the mood, and I can’t imagine why I waited so long – it was great, and I recommend putting it in your queue, if you have any interest in old, gothic, expressionistic silent movies.

A week. I gave up watching Star Trek for Lent, but had 4 Star Trek DVDs sent to me the week before Easter.

mrsgnu and I have seperate queues, and I only get one DVD out at a time. It took me a little over three weeks to get around to watching Seven Samurai.

About 5 weeks. When I realized I was paying $20 a month (this was a while ago) for movies I wasn’t watching, I sent it back and cancelled service.

I can’t even keep up with my DVR now. I don;t watch as much TV/movies as I used to.

Watch it, it’s not depressing as much as it is morbidly funny. It’s a really good movie.

I too have had movies out for several months at a time, but I always kept the other two circulating and have never had a problem.

About a week and a half. I only get one disk at a time, so there isn’t much of an opportunity to put off movies.

I routinely send movies back without watching them.

It doesn’t happen a lot, but if we haven’t watched a disk in about two weeks then I send it back. I’m moody about what I want to watch, and I figure I can just get it again later.

I kept one for about 9 or 10 months once because I lost it. What I have currently I’ve had for about a month and I just keep forgetting to send it back. (I only have the one at a time plan)

I’m not sure, but I’d be surprised if I get to a week - probably six days.

High turnover customer, VERY motivated returner.

The ones I have now have been with me since before Thanksgiving.
