(A) You use a highly flexible definition of “nothing”.
(B) How many years of Benghazi and Whitewater investigations did you excitedly wait through?
Remember Whitewater? Nothing ever happened with that either.
In my mind, it’s not a probability, it is a certainty.
We’re closing in on the point in the Watergate investigations where Nixon threw a fit and told people to knock it off. His fellow Republicans, and people like Rev. Billy Graham, were just as much in denial.
We know how that one ended.
Traitor.
We would have already had a Saturday Night Massacre if the White House Counsel weren’t riding herd.
I’m with my mother on this: “I don’t just want to see him impeached or removed anymore. I want to see him ruined.”
Or if Trump wasn’t significantly a weaker person than Nixon was and fired the WH Counsel.
Did you ever watch the show Lost? If not, they spent, like seven seasons building mystery after mystery and we all watched in rapt anticipation until the finale where we imagined all would be answered. But, I was skeptical. It’s not that the mysteries that they had woven wouldn’t have a sensible explanation, it’s that the couldn’t have a sensible explanation. There was simply no finale that could possibly have been written that would have explained all of the available evidence.
This is the same way. But, in this case, there are sensible explanations. Just none that are innocent.
I’d love to hear just one explanation for why Russia has achieved favored nation status when all other nations are shitholes. Why every single person on that campaign had Russian contacts that they hid. You don’t hide innocent contacts. We have two people who have already pleaded guilty to related crimes which are suspiciously less than what they could have been charged with. We have the GOP on fucking tape talking about how Trump owes Putin (hushed up, because, you know, we’re family and all). We have the release of classified information in the fucking Oval Office. Imagine if Obama did nothing other than that. There would have been a dozen investigations by now, as it should be. We have tens of millions of dollars in inauguration money that just up and disappeared. We have Trump and his ilk covering up at every opportunity because it is there only play left. We have tax returns being protected like fucking diamonds. We have a president that had no access to money other than sketchy Russian mobsters.
Maybe you could find an innocent explanation for any one of these things, which would have to rely on the administration not being criminal, but criminally stupid. But, all of it together? Nah.
Too many mysteries and there is no possible innocent explanation. No doubt that there was malfeasance. The only question is how much, and whether the president can be protected from it.
No. Mueller is on record as saying it’s different! You have to watch the very last bit.
Oh fuck me!
ROFL, had you really not already seen that? I think Mace and I are the only ones on the board who loved it.
Swear to Christ. I’ve seen SNL maybe twice in my life. I think I made the Lost reference once before though, and I’m desperately trying to find it!
I’m not a regular watcher, either, but that bit went viral and caught up. I still get a giggle fit over it.
Is it too late to change my analogy to Battlestar Gallactica? Still works with Battlestar Gallactica.
LOL, we believe you. The analogies run fast and furious with President Very Stable Genius.
I’m pretty sure Stranger on a Train referenced it in another thread. I gave up on SNL for awhile, but it’s gotten much better in recent years. That skit had me in stitches, but then Kate McKennon is a comic genius, so that helps! I almost thought FYL was purposely setting me up for a whoosh with the Lost reference.
