What is this candy called?

There is a kind of mint that I’m having a craving for. It’s one of the kind that you might find in a bowl on your way out of a restaurant.

They’re about the size of large jelly beans but more round (slightly egg shaped). They have a candy shell in various colors, a little brighter than pastels. The inside is sort of like the inside of a York Peppermint Patty, but maybe a little more firm.

They are not “after dinner mints” which are pastel, sort of pillow shaped, and chalky. Those are good too, but not what I’m looking for.

Anyone?

Oh yum, I love those. They’re like M&Ms, only bigger, pastel and minty. And I’ve purchased them in boxes, so I know you can get them, but I’m blanking on the name. Gimme a few seconds, it’ll come to me.

Jelly Belly mints maybe?

No, that’s not it. I want to say it’s something like Jots. But I think that’s not quite it either.

Hmm. Are these them? I think they are, but I still think they have another name.

(Sorry, I can never remember how to make a working link.)

HA!

No, those are chocolate.

Abby: no, they are not jelly beans. They are like York Peppermint Patties (have you ever had one? the center is this white creamy stuff… but kinda firm).

Junior Mints. You find them most often in movie theater snack bars. Yum-yum.

Opal - I’m pretty sure the first ones are what you’re looking for - even though it says chocolate, I think that’s a simplified description. IIRC, there’s an extremely thin layer of chocolate under the shell, but the inside is white and denser than a peppermint patty.

But I’m also pretty sure they were called Jots when I bought them. Then again, it’s been a loooooong time.

Horse: No, they are definitely NOT Junior Mints. Junior Mints are not egg-shaped nor do they have a pastel candy shell.

Life: hmmm… maybe I should try them…

Hmm. I found something else, too:

Opal I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant Jelly Belly brand mints. I think they make a mint that looks like a jots mint only more oval and less round. It’s not a jelly bean with mint flavor, it’s a true sorta firm cream chew mint in a candy shell. I tried to find it online. They have them in the gift shop in the tunnels downtown. If you dont find your answer before then I will look on monday during my lunch hour. I’ve had them, but maybe they are by the Jelly Bellys and I just am mistaken about their brand. ]

(I like Junior Mints, but these are better. Junior Mints are messy, besides.)

Life: Hmm… those look like them, too…
Abby: let me know if you find them

These are not as pale pastels as the ones I had from the tunnel shop, but they are candy coated mints.

These are what the ones I was thinking of looked like!

Hmm… the ones I remember were definitely shiny…
