There is a kind of mint that I’m having a craving for. It’s one of the kind that you might find in a bowl on your way out of a restaurant.
They’re about the size of large jelly beans but more round (slightly egg shaped). They have a candy shell in various colors, a little brighter than pastels. The inside is sort of like the inside of a York Peppermint Patty, but maybe a little more firm.
They are not “after dinner mints” which are pastel, sort of pillow shaped, and chalky. Those are good too, but not what I’m looking for.
Oh yum, I love those. They’re like M&Ms, only bigger, pastel and minty. And I’ve purchased them in boxes, so I know you can get them, but I’m blanking on the name. Gimme a few seconds, it’ll come to me.
Abby: no, they are not jelly beans. They are like York Peppermint Patties (have you ever had one? the center is this white creamy stuff… but kinda firm).
Opal - I’m pretty sure the first ones are what you’re looking for - even though it says chocolate, I think that’s a simplified description. IIRC, there’s an extremely thin layer of chocolate under the shell, but the inside is white and denser than a peppermint patty.
But I’m also pretty sure they were called Jots when I bought them. Then again, it’s been a loooooong time.
Opal I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. I meant Jelly Belly brand mints. I think they make a mint that looks like a jots mint only more oval and less round. It’s not a jelly bean with mint flavor, it’s a true sorta firm cream chew mint in a candy shell. I tried to find it online. They have them in the gift shop in the tunnels downtown. If you dont find your answer before then I will look on monday during my lunch hour. I’ve had them, but maybe they are by the Jelly Bellys and I just am mistaken about their brand. ]
