Apparently those photos were taken in Capitola, CA. That doesn’t look like a very big place. With a little effort someone could probably track down the exact telephone pole, I’d have thought.
You’re driving down the freeway; there are several other vehicles with you. It’s gray and drizzly. While driving, you are parallelled by an strange flying object at the distance of a quarter mile, not very big but you are able to describe it in detail (comparing photos of similar objects you point out one of them).
While you drive down the freeway, the craft stops, and then get up to 70 mph in a few seconds and then stops again, and starting anew. You’re able to describe the movements (no tilting etc) of the flying object while it does so. – But didn’t your vehicle drive on, losing sight of it while it made its stops and starts? Did the craft stop, and the again parallell your particular car, or any of the other ”many” cars on the freeway?
And if the object parallelled you for fifteen minutes, why would you look for an exit to go ”off on a wild … chase”? – Why didn’t you just stop the car instead of looking for an exit, and get your camera out? It was right there and there was no signs of it trying to escape you.
I’m not saying you’re making this out, I just can picture the scene. Please get back to us, it’s a fascinating story.
It’s not that small of a place, physically; trying to track down that exact pole won’t be that easy.
I’m familiar with Capitola. It essentially has the layout of your typical American suburban town, with the exception of higher density housing and businesses near the beach. If the UFO was in that area, many people would have seen it.
I also grew up in Palo Alto, where the CARET offices were allegedly located; I can’t for the life of me think of an office building that had a guard shack in front.
The object was meandering over a ridge of hills off to the right, over 5 or so minutes I caught up with it, coming to a minimum distance of approximately 1/4 mile. If I had stopped and set up a tripod it would have quickly pulled ahead of me as it was averaging roughly 55MPH, following the ridge, I did slow down and stare intently at it as long as I could.
Eventually the ridge and freeway diverged and it pulled away from me. There was a river between me and the ridge, no bridges and no roads that way so I was unable to follow it.
The GF was not interested in it and did not want to try to take any pictures out the window, I contacted her (We are broken up now) and showed her the pictures from this thread, she didn’t remember seeing anything or of me being interested in it.
MacGyver
You all are probably going to laugh your heads off at me, but it looks like something from Star Wars to me – either from the scene where Luke looses his hand or maybe the exterior shots of Cloud City. It could be something digitally captured or maybe a part of a model that was photographed & photoshopped. I tried to find pictures of those scenes or even any info on a Kanji-esque script being used in Star Wars, but I bombed out. But still…wouldn’t it be a great joke to use a Star Wars image as a UFO hoax?

There’s a video posted of that thing and it links to youtube.
I think our hoaxers have been busy.
That video wasn’t by the hoaxers though. It is a derivative using a CG craft based on the one used by the hoaxers, composited with still images of the roof and sky:
This “UFO” just won’t go away.
Not to say I’m not interested to see how ridiculous this thing gets!
I don’t have anything substantive to add, but I just wanted to expand on what I said in post #111.
Look at the diagrams/graphics on this page.
Now look at this
this
this
and
this
-most of these examples are based on the Mind Mapping concept, but that general style and feel of techno-ornate vector graphics is very much ‘now’. There’s not a chance it was created in the 60s or whenever the document says.
It’s a Klingon IUD.
Heh.
Count the antennas in each image. And check their length.
I’m wear bifocals these days, but I think I detect differences between the images.
There are lots of different pictures - showing a variety of different objects, all with common design features - is this what you’re describing, or are you saying that what is supposedly the same object has a different antenna count from one incident/series?
It says “Mars Cola Gives You Lift.”
Actually, it says “My other levitating toroid drone has radial spikes”
I thought it was “We brake for nobody.”
Actually, it says "This Probe Property of Vogon Construction Fleet ҜҜҜحڋ "
"If this starship is rockin’, don’t come knockin’ "
Seriously though - there seem to be lots more reports of this thing now, but I still think they’re all coming from the same hoaxer - there’s something about them all that I can’t quite put my finger on - very much as though the accounts are all written by the same person who is straining too hard to come across as lots of different people.
You’re all so very wrong.
The actual translation is “Resistance is futile, so there”
I believe it has a connection with this news story.
