What is your Autism spectrum quotient?

Another thread here about a very worthy cause reminded me of this and I thought it would be something that would be of interest to a lot of folks.

There was a similar thread here back in 2005, but at the time, it wasn’t an anonymous, interactive test so I think a lot of people preferred to not bother. This test is completely anonymous and interactive. Well, the interactive scoring bit is true, the “completely anonymous” part may or may not be (close blinds, afix tinfoil hat  ).

Here is the link on the the Wired Magazine web site. The test has 50 questions. You will get a score of between 0 and 50 once you’re finished. It is the product of Cambridge’s Autism Research Centre. You will find a long list of other tests that are available at this link including the Adult Asperger Assessment test.

Here is the intro to the test you will see at the Wired link

I took the quiz and I got a 7. Definitely NOT autistic.

Now let’s all have a big party and play pretend!

I forgot to mention that I’d taken the test a few weeks ago and got a 35. But as the intro says, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. At least that’s what my press release will say.

So did I. I guess I would have got 10 had I not once been been an actor and therefore now despise the theater.

But I answered a lot of questions as “somewhat” that I could easily have changed to “definitely”. I have some clear signs of OCD*, although nothing major. I like to think of myself as a highly functional OCDer. Most people would never notice unless they get to know me well, and then it’s more of a joke than a problem. We’re all a little weird about something.

*For example, it drives me bonkers to be in a room with 2 clocks that show different times.

Not autistic, or artistic.

I got a 10.
