I may actually have a need to purchase some soon. I went on my first da since my seperation. I call it a da because I’m not sure it was a real date. I think we both sat there wondering if it was a date but that is an different story.
Since I’ve only ever used Trojans, (the kind in the light brown package) I have very little expierence with condoms.
What are your suggestions?
both men and women should feel free to respond.
I tried those, and they always broke. Well, not always, but about 50% of the time they would break, plus, even the large ones were too tight. I’m not trying to say I have a large cock…ok, I AM saying I have a large cock ;), and…well…it seems that the Kimono condoms run a bit small. I usually buy either Trojan Magnums or large Durex.
When I used condoms, it was Trojan Supra, which are the polyeurethane ones. I’m allergic to latex, so that’s why I bought them in the first place, but they also felt much more natural to me, though. They’re pricer than latex condoms, though.
My boyfriend has the same “problem”. Unfortunately, he doesn’t care for the Trojan Magnums. Does anyone else who is very well endowed have any suggestions for a comfortable (well, as much as possible) condom that they don’t mind using as much? He also has a problem of tending to take too long to climax, so the more natural feeling, the better.
TygerD
PS - For the ladies: No, all this ISN’T a great thing, as he (with my assistance) tends to tire himself out before the big finale.
So does Trojan make a size bigger than Magnum XL? They get a bit tight sometimes.
Well, I happen to have a large quantity of Trojan Ultra Ribbed in my sock drawer right now, along with whats left of the last box of Twisted Pleasure.
I’ve got to make it to a store that has a better selection than Trojan or Lifestyles.
My husband and I keep a box of Trojan Magnums for backup (if I missed a pill). I think we’ve tried Durex before, but I honestly don’t remember a difference. Hubby’s asleep or I’d ask him, since he’s the one who’d feel the most difference. He’s also the one who buys them, and he always goes back to the Trojans, so he must “prefer” them to some extent.
I find myself trusting only two brands: I always buy Trojan and I (almost) won’t accept anything else but Durex. I’ve had several bad experiences with Lifestyles and a few others of which I can’t recall the name. I had to buy some the other night when the Lady Mung was in town and can’t remember the name now…bah. I was unenthusiastic about not having Trojan, but nothing bad happened.
Either way, I refuse to buy Lifestyle anymore and I don’t like trying new brands. Trojan all the way.
I’m a fan of Lifestyles ultra sensitive. I never liked Trojans because they seem to smell very rubbery.
My other suggestion is to go with a plain lubricated condom, not a spermicidal condom, unless you’ve had a discussion about spermicides with your lady. I’ve been with two women who don’t react well to spermicides, it puts a real damper on the mood when they ask you to stop because their privates are itching.
Second to whoever suggested the Durex Extra Sensitive… The standard trojans always felt like wearing a garden hose, and the smell was always obnoxious. The Durex, on the other hand, were very thin, flexible and sensitive for a condom. I’ll go out of my way to get them.
You might want to check out the Condomania website. They sell “custom” sized condoms. You print out a kit that they provide to measure your length and circumference, then choose from their selection. Each size condom is given a coded ID that says nothing about the size of the user.
I’ve used ‘em, and they work great. Even the Magnums and other large sized brands gave a new meaning to “choking the chicken.”
We used to go with either Trojan or Durex latex with spermicide lubricant, then realized the spermicide was a problem. So we switched to Trojan or Durex latex with regular lubricant and the Durex were okay, the Trojan had that overly rubbery Trojan smell that it turns out is not just the spermicide. On a board suggestion, we tried a box of the Avanti and haven’t gone back. They are polyurethane instead of latex, and though neither of us is latex allergic, the polyurethane feel thinner, get to body temperature sooner, and generally just feel more natural than latex. As to choosing Avanti over the Trojan Supra: see above commends on spermicide. The Supra is a polyurethane condom available only with a spermicidal lubricant, and the Avanti is available only with a regular lubricant.
I prefer just trusting the pill. For a side poll, if the thread hasn’t already…climaxed…, would the gentlemen take a male birth control pill should one receive government approval and become available on the market? I say I would take on that responsibility for the sake of the added pleasure of no condom.
I’d take one, but I think a better and more effective method would be to develop easily-reversible vasectomies. Namely, some sort of valve that could be turned on in a minor outpatient procedure if you do want to be a papa.
My google-fu is weak this morning, I can’t find a link to the current research on this.
Same here! My girlfriend’s extra-paranoid about getting pregnant (she’s on the pill and still insists on condoms, despite us both testing negative for all testable STD’s), so she did some research and we tried the Durex Extra Sensitives. They feel good and they don’t break - can’t ask for much more than that from a condom.
