Homemade banana pudding. There’s nothing like it; it’s just soft yummy goodness. If I’m having an especially horrible day, my sweetie can often be persuaded to fix some–though he usually threatens to gussy it up with candied orange peels or amaretto. Blasphemy!
Perhaps this is cliche’, but I love a good pizza. Preferably thin crust, great sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Topings optional. Damn good thing I live in Philadelphia…
Spaghetti and Meatballs,
Chinese food, especially good eggrolls and pot stickers,
Pad Thai,
Pork chops,
Mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmmmmmmmmm.
Hmm… I have a few…
A hot cup of tea (Earl Grey or peppermint preferably but Orange Pekoe will do) with honey to sweeten it… I never put milk in my tea unless it’s orange pekoe…
A hot bowl of chili, not too spicy with a slice or two of buttered bread or a buttered bun…
Biscuits… fresh homemade biscuits warm from the oven with butter melted on them and dipped into molasses or if no molasses honey… mmm… I should make some… I have all the ingredients:)
I agree with the chili…only, I want mine in the form of a Frito pie…
Put some Fritos in the bottom of a bowl, put a dollop of sour cream on top, sprinkle in cheese, then fill with chili. On the top of the bowl add a little more cheese, a little bit of sour cream and a few more fritos, just for the sake of appearance, curl up and eat.
Panfried Spicy Lemon Grass Chicken on Rice. Its soooo goood…
I have a couple, I like pinto beans slow cooked with ham hock and a couple of sliced jalepenos served with hot cornbread, onions and chow chow.
Potato soup made with butter and cream with bits of bacon in it.
Potato Salad.
mmm
Guinness, pickled jalapenos, kebabs, bird’s instant custard.
it’s a hormonal craving.
and when i want them, i want them ALL. in one sitting.
yummy.
take a flour tortilla, cut some butter off and toss it on there, not too much. Toss it under the broiler for a minute. Crispy buttery flour tortilla. mmmmmm. Perfect for wet and rainy days. For sick and miserable days.
I also like it when it’s not totally crispy.
tarka dal and chapatis
tea and toast (especially when coming in from a long walk, it’s got to be tea and hot buttered toast)
stroopwafels, when I can get them
lamb hotpot
chicken broth with scraps of chicken meat and bits of celery from the broth
a big, f**k-off huge mug of cappucino with cinnamon on top. Which is what I’m having right now.
Homemade chicken noodle soup. From my Mom’s recipe. With homemade noodles.
But if I/we don’t have the time or the energy; grilled cheese sammichs. Medium cheddar on whole wheat only please.
Graham crackers and a ice cold glass of milk.
Tapioca pudding.
A Mounds bar. Or two.
A bowl of steaming hot grits, two eggs over easy, 3 fried sausage links cut up in little pieces, and a hand full of shredded cheese. Mash all together, add a dusting of salt and generous amount of fresh ground pepper. Hmm hmm good.
I hear ya with cinnimon; I turn me applesauce an’ oatmeal brown
with the wonderous spice.
My other food has definatly got to be Seltzer Water
Idunno why- I hate Tonic water, but theres somthing about seltzer

I need it to do long - crunching reports AND IT DRAMATICALLY
IMPROVES MY PENOCHILE GAME when I play my grandparents

When I was drinking seltzer i won the game on my second hand-
105 points on second hand!
So we decided to play to 200. I went and got another seltzer.
I got pennochile (two jack of diamonds two queen spades) on the Third hand
and got a straight + four aces on the fourth hand and won most of the point cards which brought my score up to 196 on 4th hand
then my selzter ran out and i only recieved 5 points from the meld, but my luck streak helped me out anyway cause i won 201 points on 5th hand
the scores are as follows ( I saved the score sheet
)

I can’t believe no one has mentioned CHOCOLATE!!!
A couple hersheys or snickers or a long guzzle of pure chocolate syrup–that’s the prescription for pure endorphines for me. When I’m feeling down, I just open the fridge and grab the chocolate syrup squeeze bottle and, no worries! Pure comfort, zero effort. Satisfaction.
Depends on my mood. I just had french bread dipped in cheese sauce, with roasted peppers and smoked chicken- the cheese-sauce-fondue-thing is a big one.
Mashed potatoes, pho (Vietnamese beef soup- better than chicken soup any day!), naan, french fries with gravy, beef stew, real barbeque…
I’m basically a meat-and-bread-and-potatoes girl. In spite of the recurrent deep-fry threads I’m not really into sweet stuff.
(hijack)
My father is on a lemon merengue pie kick. I like it, but he’s been buying it at least once a week since January. It’s the best way to take the pleasure out of any food- being forced to eat it. Urgh. Anyone want some pie?
(/hijack)
Pho
Potatoes in any form. Buttery pasta. Cheese pasta. Buttery cheesy pasta. Cake. Pie. (Mmm, pie.) French toast. A big bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and warm milk.
Basically, carbs. I like carbs. Carbs is good. Mmm, carbs.
cornbread, grilled cheese sandwiches, split pea soup.
No, not all at the same time.
Mac and Cheese, especially with tuna and peas (and green chile)
Fishsticks with tartar sauce
Lentil soup, or ham/split pea soup
Black bean burritoes, especially on corn tortillas
Hmm, I guess I grew up in the legume family.
