I have a ritual each morning. Turn on the monitors (the computer is left running), scan for interesting headlines at slashdot, read sluggy, read userfriendly, read sinfest, read megatokyo, read penny-arcade, read exploitationnow, follow up on slashdot stuff, read straightdope.
/. for me as well. Then here, then I move on to other stuff if time permits. Ya right, like that ever happens.

Mine is MyYahoo. When I get home from work I have between 30 and 80 e-mails.
And I spam-block!
Mine is web.icq.com…I don’t want the fricking thing to be my start up page but whenever I change it and I start up again it takes over…I have my true start up pages bookmarked…depending on my mood they are the New York Times or my ISP’s home page (sk.sympatico.ca).

It’s my small, passive way to Save The World [sup]TM[/sup]
CNN.com. That way even if I immediately bypass it to go to some other site, I still get a glimpse of current headlines and therefore stay mildly informed about the state of the world.
Google. Loads quick, and I can get to my favorite search page by clicking the HOME button or opening a new window. Massively useful, I find.
Like there’s another option?
I’m even more impatient…I go straight to the latest posts here so I have less clickthroughs!
Just the blank Netscape window, although I usually check news (CNN.com) and sports (ESPN.com) first.
My default startup page is some weird Microsoft address, http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=5.5&ar=msnhome. It goes to msn.com, so what’s all that other crap for? I don’t use it, don’t know how to get rid of it- Microsoft Help doesn’t want to tell me how to change the default startup. What the hell, it’s not my computer.
The page I actually use, unless I change it to remind me of something, is the SD message boards home.
At home, The Weather Channel forecast for Orlando. At work, its Calvin and Hobbes.
