What is your favorite color?

My very favorite color is periwinkle, which is probably why I’m so taken with the gemstone called Tanzanite. My second-favorite is teal, which is also a blended color. So I voted “Other”.

I do find myself wearing a lot of black/heather gray/charcoal because it’s easy to mix and match.

Mmm… Same as me?

Red rocks.

My hatred for pink balances your love of pink almost equally. I don’t know why. I have no objection to pink in nature (flowers, flamingoes*) or 1960s-style hot pinks, but pink fabric, plastic, ceramics and all their ilk make me decidedly unhappy. I often wonder, if I had grown up speaking a different language where pink is just a subset of red, would I feel this way about light red?

*Though I wouldn’t have either in my garden.

I love pink. I voted purple, but my favorite color is really kind of an orchid/magenta. It’s kind of halfway between.

Sorry about black people.

I am a purple person.

Yellow. Duh!

Hey, you’re me!

Whoops, never mind. I used to dislike red until I discovered it looks good on me.

We forgive you.

My car dealership thinks so.

Green. I’m sitting here in my green shirt, on my green chair, in my green living room. My green car is in the garage. I love green.

Not sure how anyone can have a favorite color, and for most of us I think it depends mostly on what the color is going on. For my cars, I kind of like white, red, black on the outside if they are sporty. If they are more classic and not sporty, I still like white, and then maybe silver, gray or black, but definitely not red. For one’s house, I doubt they would want their favorite color on the outside or inside of it. Furniture is also generally limited on colors too, and doubt most would want their favorite color here, I wouldn’t think. For clothes, at least with pants, it’s generally blue jeans or black, with shirts more variety.

Every now and then I do see some obsessed with their favorite color. Even though blue seems to be the popular choice for guys, and pink for girls, often the most obsession I’ve seen with one particular color is with the color black with it mostly being guys. Not sure how far some go with it, but generally it’s always with wearing black every day for their clothes, and their all of their cars are also black. Some also insist on black hair, but not as much that. I still find it hard to relate to a favorite color.

What, no one’s voted for orange?

Orange is my third-favorite color, after blue and green.

I voted violet/purple, but my favorite color is actually more of a lavender (the blue toned-lavender, not the pinky-purple one).

Of course it is. What else would you call it?

I don’t feel that I’m obsessed with my favorite color, I just find that if I have a choice I’ll invariably pick the object in green over the same thing in other colors. My house? Yes, the door and shutters are green, the kitchen counter is green, there is green in most of the floor tiles, and green in the predominate color in both my living room and bedroom. Why wouldn’t I pick things in a color that is pleasing to me?

It’s interesting that many posters’ stated favorites are not exactly the basic colors listed, but blends of those hues.
My favorite color changes. I voted for pink, but I’m thinking of more of a pale peach, like you might see in the sky at sunrise. I also like what might be that color’s compliment: a rich greenish blue, like looking down into a deep ocean.

I can never answer this question. It’s like “what’s your favorite song?”; the answer depends on so many things. (I voted orange because it needed some love).

However, I don’t like most shades of green. It can go wrong so easily. Sorry, Walkabout.

Well yeah. If we’re talking about a car, for example, I’d prefer grey (although in what I swear is complete happenstance, my car is green), but for the most part, the color that is most pleasing to my eye is green. I didn’t even realize I had a favorite color until I noticed that I had a zillion green shirts (I counted them), a green sofa and green vases in my living room. I picked them out because they looked pretty to me. Whenever picking something out among similar items, I naturally gravitate toward the green or blue option.

I just find it interesting that there are some that use one particular color for a variety of choices like you have done. Out of curiosity if you got a new house in say twenty years time, do you think you would want to go with the same green color schemes all over again?

My favorite color is a deep purple that is almost black. I saw it once on a sports car when I was a kid but I haven’t seen it since.
