What is Your Favorite Type of Cake?

I like just about any kind of cake. But probably my favorite is my grandmother’s applesauce cake – no frosting, but lots of raisins.

I like marble cake, marbled chocolate and yellow cake, with chocolate frosting. Also, the best cake I’ve ever had is a piece of the carrot cake which danceswithcats and bibliocat made for my husband’s birthday. I had one piece and had to immediately give away the leftovers, or I’d have eaten all of it.

Absolutely.

Sometimes we add a speck of cayenne pepper to a boxed chocolate cake mix and frost it with the darkest chocolate we can find and that’s yummy too!

First, Devil’s Food with Chocolate Frosting
Second, Yellow with Chocolate Frosting
Third, Lemon Pound Cake with Lemon Glaze

What’s that thing people say about subscribing to newsletters? That.

My mom makes a hazelnut cake with maple filling. You make it in a thin layer, spread the filling on, and roll it up into a log. The slices look all swirly and pretty. It is just barely sweet. Heaven!

Your not clear.

A classic white cake, properly made so it has an impossibly tender crumb, flavored with almond extract, and topped with a creamy homemade chocolate frosting.

Every other cake mentioned above is adequate substitute.

Mmm, cake.

I’m intrigued by your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter? Whatever. I just want to eat canned frosting.

This is my favorite type also. Where I grew up it was called Danish LAyer Cake. Of course it came from the same bakery that made the best Danish Kringle also.
ETA- OK looking at the recipe you posted not quite the same. The Danish Layer Cake is yellow cake with a banana and strawberry cream kind of filling with a white cream frosting.

I like Cake with a short skirt and a long jacket.
