I looked at this test, it seems more a marketing tool than anything significant. Especially since it described me as a “smart spender” and “practical planner”.
This test is obviously a load of bollocks (e.g., I am supposedly “out of control” when it comes to my finances), and a complete marketing tool. I’m assuming for the moment that Isabelle is not the owner of the site, but merely a tad gullible. Normally, this sort of link is found in spam posts, which are summarily deleted. I’ll leave it be for now, but it’s obvious that the link is not to be taken seriously.
We prefer to think of ourselves as grasshoppers. In the past when we were relatively poor we always took vacations, put them on the charge, then when the charge was paid off went on vacation again. One of our fondest memories was our trip to Disney with the kids after I got my Phd. The roof on our house was in pretty bad shape, not leaking, but shingles falling off. So we got a home improvement loan to get a new roof and promptly went on vacation to Disneyworld instead. Needless to say our parental units were horrified.
Luckily for us we have done very well financially, have a very nice retirement fund and can now afford to take 1-3 month long vacations paid in advance. But we still prefer living now rather than socking it all away for the future.
I just took the poll and it said I am a Smart Spender who is a Potential Credit Card Disaster who’s Living Day by Day. Which is pretty funny since we absolutely no credit debt.
