Probably Augusta, my little stuffed hippopotamus. I have been known to knee boys who have attempted to menace her. Actually, all my stuffed animals. My husband reacts exactly the same way. They are not to be touched without proper respect and care.

Years ago I was at a county fair in Virginia. For some reason or another, I was talking about The Hobbit. The nearby jeweler heard me. He made a ring in the shape of Gollum. Mom bought it for my birthday present.
Loves it. Little silver Gollum curled around my finger.
Lost it about a year ago. Think it’s somewhere in my apartment.
Have tried yelling “Where…is it? Where…is my Preciousss?! Where?!” while going through piles of stuff and throwing things over my shoulder.
Still can’t find it.
But knows it’s here we does!

My watch. I’ve had it for almost 7 years. It’s water resistant, so I never take it off. It’s gone through 3 bands, 4 battery changes, and the plastic on the outside is starting to chip off. Whenever I don’t have it on (which is only when it’s getting its battery changed) I feel like a part of me is missing. I tried getting a new watch but it didn’t feel right. It’s quite sad.
