Virgo Snake: You are scholarly, very dedicated and focused on a goal at hand. you can also be autocratic, and unemotional. (short version)
I’m a Leo, and I think that perhaps half fits, at best. Chinese-wise, I’m a Fire Horse, and the traits fit me to a T, down to how I like to dress. It’s kinda freaky how accurate and detailed the chinese ones are in comparison to western zodiac.
Aquarius here, and I fit about 90% of the traits. What I find amazing is how I run into people that feel right, you know like “so I’m not the only weirdo around here”, and they turn out to be aquarius too.
Looking at Mnementh’s quote, I’d say I do it my own special way by not doing anything impulsively.
It’s kind of funny, but a friend of mine and I just did a little experiment after I was told that I MUST be a Taurus (and for the record, I am).
We found this book which listed all the personality traits of each sign (can’t remember which one, but there’s a tonne of them at the local library), and sure enough, it seemed to describe general tendencies in my character… But, just for fun, I looked up Aries. Same thing there. And Sagittarius. And Capricorn. And so on ad infinitum. So I figure I was born under a maternity ward sign…
My next experiment is to get someone who knows this stuff but doesn’t know when my birthday is to guess my sign based on their observations…
Most general descriptions of Leo fit me pretty well: proud, stubborn, dominant, a natural leader. That whole bit about being extroverted and outgoing is a crock though.
My element, fire, fits me to a tee: Irritable, volatile, and destructive.
Quite out-of-keeping with my screenname (you’d expect Libra, wouldn’t you?), I’m an Aries. I was born in the year of the Ox. That gives us the following descriptions:
and
Lessee here…they got “stubborn”, “contrary” (that’s the “individual unimpeachable freedom” bit), and “good with his hands” (though I prefer my applications to surgery or hairdressing ;)). Maybe I hit “honest” on a good day, but AFAIK I don’t inspire any particular confidence and I hate leading anything with a passion.
Astrology is bunk. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go read the runes for a bit.
Bwwwwwaaaaahahaha! Mom’s an Aries (a triple Aries, at that), and that comment fits her perfectly.
Me? I’m a Libra with Leo rising and Taurus Moon: Euty nailed the whole arguement thing, and with a Taurus Moon, it makes me a very good listener on top of it all. I always end up moderating. Libras also have a love of art and pretty things, the Leo rising gives me a flair for the dramatic, and Taurus moons love to cook–which all fits into my chosen profession, pastry chef.
Let’s see … likes to dress well? Nope. Gregarious? Not usually. Elegant? Oh, ha, ha, ha. Likes to be the leader? Not all the time – being out in front means you’re first to get the bullet.
Is cynical part o’ the deal?
Born in the Year of the Rabbit, but I prefer to use Vietnamese signs and go under Year of the Cat. Al Stewart is still cool …
“Aquarius is a sign which relates to freedom, independence, and breaking new ground with progressive thoughts and ideas. Uniqueness and inventiveness are given to planets here.”
Well, sure. Then again who would disagree with such a description? ‘No, I’m sorry. I’m restricted, dependant, old-fashioned, rigid, and unimaginative’. Don’t think so.
“Harmonious aspects enable Aquarius to be the best of friends with much in the way of excitement.”
I suppose that’s true. I don’t have a LOT of friends, but I am very loyal and devoted to those that are my friends. Excitement? Ask the people who were at AmsterDope. I really don’t know, I think I’m pretty average in the excitement department.
“While the darker side prompts this sign to disdain rules or boundaries, and act too impulsively.”
Disdain the rules?? I have to MAINTAIN them, even!
Well, there IS the speeding ticket issue. Acting impulsively? In some areas. But I’m very rational as well.
“Aquarius is a sign mainly concerned with doing things in its own special way.”
Hey, I’ll be the judge of that! Wait a minute…
December 25th Capricorn here, only nobody could be less of a Capricorn than me. I’m unorganized, unambitious, unpractical, etc. etc. I’m more of a Pices, but I was born two months premature.
My supervisor is a Pices, and she is more of a Capricorn. We work well together, and would never be friends.
I do have many of the Pisces traits-emotional, sensitive, sensual, intuitive and a love of the fantasy world. All of this has a lot to do with the reason I chose the name Mermaid.
I also share many of the Aries traits-impulsiveness,forthrightness, honesty, and a stubborn refusal to accept defeat.
I am a beautiful and unique individual–a fish on fire.
Thank you Lsura for that link, though I’m not a big believer of astrology or the zodiac’s of any culture, finding out that I am a Leonine Rabbit lends a bit of insight into why I’m so conflicted.
They are practically opposites.
If one were to read a description of Leo, then Rabbit, and throw in my element, Fire…one might begin to see the irony of the life I lead
Oh I dunno about you being the only conflicted one, soulmurk. I am a scorpio fire sheep, born in the hour of the tiger. I guess it makes me a less vengeful scorpion and not such a HUGE wimp, sheepwise.
(Just hide me from those Scots, would ya? They frighten me!)
Romantic, gambler, extravagant, impractical, drama queen - mostly no.
I was also born in the year of the pig.
A truly luxurious nature, quite venomous when angry, rather exclusive, forever studying - mostly yes.
Generous and honorable, nice to a fault, almost saintly, rose-colored view - mostly no.
Broken down, I think it looks fairly equal. Overall, I thought the long description of a Leo was 2/3 accurate, and the long description of the pig was only 1/4 accurate. Plus, the description is only as good as the day you meet me. Some days, I’m really quiet and introspective. Other days, I crave attention. Life has taught me to be practical rather than dramatic. The pigs seem to be snobby perfectionists who adore luxury. Nope. Doesn’t sound like me.
