I’ve been using Old Spice stick but people are telling me thats just as bad as using Axe
Old Spice is great. I don’t use it but I heartily approve of it. It’s super sexy.
Though on second thought, you should check to see if there’s some Jurassic Park themed deodorant. Chicks dig that even more than they do Old Spice.
scamartistry probably has an opinion.
Personally, I’ve used Brut since my teenage years but you probably don’t want to know how long that’s been.
Buy several different brands and scents. Wear a different one each day. When the person you like says you smell good, stick with that brand. Me, I just use unscented because, meh.
Soap.
rinse, repeat
Unscented antiperspirant if you want to lessen the sweat, then whatever scents you like. Perhaps a nice mix of cyclooctadiene, diethylsulfide, and trimethylphosphine.
Because mature men smell like the inside of my glovebox, or at least that’s what I tell myself.
Unscented Mitchum. A classic.
Actually that’s what I use, elmwood. I know, I know, I’m technically a girl, but it’s great. At heart, I’m a Mitchum man!
Nothing wrong with Old Spice. It’s a classic and nothing like Axe.
I buy my hubby Old Spice because I think it smells yummy - ditto for the body wash.
I’m female, and I also use unscented Mitchum. If I decide to wear a scent, the deodorant/antiperspirant won’t clash. I work in close quarters with my co-workers, and the last thing any of us needs is strongly-scented people clashing with each other. Pretty much no one wears perfume or cologne or otherwise scented stuff aside from maybe shampoo.
Since I’ve gotten used to people smelling like nothing, or just what they washed with, I find extra scent to be overpowering and unpleasant most of the time. A lot of men seem to smell like bug spray to me lately. It might be Axe or just some cheap cologne but I have to make an effort not to sneeze.
I’ve used Old Spice original stick forever and my dad did before me. I’m 52. Dad’s 74 and he might still use it.
I always used Gillette or Right Guard gel. I’m not picky. I use the “blue” one, which often has a generic name like “Cool Blast.” I’m 32 FWIW.
My boyfriend always used the old formula of ‘Fresh’ Speedstick which we both really liked, but it was discontinued a couple years ago.
Now he uses an Old Spice (I use it too). It’s okay. It lasts for fricking ever though! I think we’ve had this stick over a year?
I just got a thing of Old Spice Matterhorn because it told me I would smell like “Ice, Wind, and Freedom.” Knowing that ice and wind do not (or should not) smell, I was interested in what freedom smelled like.
To my wife, Freedom smells like lavender. To me, Freedom smells like deoderant.
What does your friend think about it?
He probably just uses a laserdisc player and calls it good.
As a mid-20s male I use Axe. The wifey and I like the smell, but I don’t use the body spray as that is way too much.
Old Spice. The classic types, not the “new and improved” axe wannabe stuff.
Speedstick. I had to get up and look to see what scent it was, which is how much I think about it. “Sports Talc”.
Last year, when my son was in 5th grade, all the boys received a small bar of Old Spice as part of the “You’re starting to change” lecture. I’m guessing that the deodorant was from the Old Spice people but who knows. I only mention it because, for all the ads and popularity of the Old Spice guy, I still think of the product itself as “old man” stuff by virtue of the aftershave/cologne products in the line.
