Thanks for proving that Liberal is right. No one KNEW any of those things, and if you understood how science works you’d KNOW that.
To keep it current, no one KNOWS what quarks are made of. People have guesses, but no one knows, and if you read the papers and not the newspaper reports that would come across very clearly.
I think they do, but peddle it anyhow for what they consider a greater cause - getting people to accept Jesus.
They are indeed liars, but I don’t think they consider themselves cynical liars.
In the Bay Area, I don’t run across many creationists. I’ve scared off the Jehovah’s Witnesses quite some time ago. My first response in board discussions is to ask a creationist what they think evolution calls for. For all we know they may think that evolution calls for cats to become dogs or something like that. It’s no use defending something that isn’t even evolution. I almost never get an answer though, since most of the creationist trolls who visit here aren’t interested in a discussion.
I break creationist down into:
The ignorant
The stupid
The liars
The ignorant have never been taught what evolution actually says. They’re more sinned against than sinning, and Liberal’s points will work well for them - if they are interested in learning.
The stupid just aren’t going to get how small changes over time work. I haven’t seen many of them, but I’m sure they exist.
The liars are the smart ones, who, as I said above, think that lying about evolution is what God wants them to do. Quote miners are liars, since they have had to read the entire work to extract the quotes they use. I don’t think Hamm or Dembski are stupid. I include in the liar category those who put their fingers in their ears when confronted with opposing evidence.
