BrainGlutton, here’s your definition of intellectual from the other thread:
How does that not apply to Friday?
I wouldn’t want a relationship with her myself, though, at least not as she is in the first part of the novel. Way too needy.

Seconded. Interesting, my age, can do magic? And of course there’s the obvious…
And literary characters aside, a girl that plays Mechwarrior is always worth a flirt with.
Friday is not a thinker by inclination. The Boss has to practically whip her into it. She’s actually rather shallow, mentally, despite her vast intelligence.
Lessee, latest crushes include ** Diana Villiers Maturin** and Eliza, Duchess of Qwghlm
Egwene Al’Vere from the WoT series. Yeah, I know I’ve bitched about the later books and I stopped reading at Book 8 and all that, but she’s awesome. She’s one of the most even-tempered and competent characters in the series, and is not content to let things happen, but makes them happen (Jordan’s glacial narrative pacing notwithstanding).
Daenerys Targaryen from the Song of Ice and Fire series. She got the shaft early on, but before long she was raising dragons and commanding the love of ex-slaves and other oppressed peoples. Plus she gets it on with one of her handmaidens.
John Zacharius Fury (Gentle) from Imagica. I don’t know why, just always had a thing for him. :dubious:
Robin Hood, since before I could read for myself. My grandmother read and reread the book for me until she must have been sick of the sight of the thing. I’ve still got a major thing for 'ol Robin. I guess I’ve got a dozen or more versions of the story now.
  OMG, I’d started the Aubrey/Maturin series after seeing* Master and Commander*, the movie, but I’m not all that far along yet. Are you telling me that Steven and Diana…??? EEEWWWW!!!
I prefer to think that her rather, ah, unpleasant life beforehand has not taught her the virtues of deep thought. Once Baldwin lights the match, her intellectual fire never goes out.
looks around Who, me? Why, thank you. I’m pretty good, too, and I prefer to arm my mechs myself. Prefer a Daishi base, the bigger the better I say, to carry the PPC and the Gauss Rifle and lots of missiles and autocannons and…
Ahem. Anyway, more on topic to the OP:
I wrote these:
Aragorn, Gwydion, King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, Sparhawk, Carrot
Let’s continue with Prof Lupin, Robin Hood, a girl-crush on Guinevere. These days I also have a big crush on Boromir which I never had from the books. Actually the movies didn’t cause it either, it’s relating to a dream I had which involved him some time ago.
looks sheepish
Oh, how could I forget Little Women? Mr. Bhaer? I know, he’s old and frumpy, but he’s such a sweetheart.
Count me in as one of the people who would have married Aragorn at a moment’s notice. Of course, that was before the films. He was way more love-worthy in the books.
He was pretty cool in the first film, IMO. I always liked him better dark and brooding. When he steps into the light he loses some of it.
And Viggo just doesn’t have the presence to be King, and he was sorely upstaged by Theoden King.
Henry DeTamble from The Time Traveler’s Wife.
Laurie from Little Women.
Hey, I’ve got a megacrush on Tonks, and I’m straight!!
I always thought that Atticus Finch needed a lady-friend too. Miss Maudie might have been doing the dirty with him (reading between the lines and all), but just in case she wasn’t…
Heathcliff is my ultimate literary crush.
Randall Patrick McMurphy.
I’ve been carrying a torch for Vlad Taltos for years, ditto Roland from the Dark Tower. Which I know is dumb because he’s really not a very nice man.
When I was a kid, I fell hard for Mr. Rochester. As an adult, I think he’s kind of a dick.
Also as a kid, I had it bad for George, from Tamora Pierce’s Alanna books. God, did I ever love those things - practically had them memorized. Then a few years ago at the ALA annual conference, I turned around and there she was! Tamora Pierce was totally not on the program, but there she was right in front of me! I almost couldn’t speak at all, it was embarassing. She was very nice and said she was the same way when she met Garth Nix.
Wuthering Heights Heathcliff?  Man, you are brave.
What are you EEEWWWing about?
One of my literary crushes is Stephen Maturin. It helps that in my mind he will always look like Paul Bettany, despite O’Brian’s repeated attempts to convince the reader how unattractive he is.
Aside from several that have already been mentioned, like Mr. Darcy and Jamie Fraser, I also have a thing for Jean Claude from the Anita Blake books. And both **Morelli **and **Ranger **from the Stephanie Plum books.
Yep. I have a thing for bad boys.
