i keep forgetting to

No, we don’t. I’m twelve weeks pregnant, and I think the earliest they can tell is eighteen weeks, and that’s if the kid cooperates. I just made a nice sleeves cotton knit dress out of some of my huge stash of dark purple (not far from black) cotton jersey. I haven’t bound the neck or armholes yet, and I’m debating about cutting the points off the gores so it’s level instead of asymetrical.
It’s a tank top that’s just above waist level, with a full skirt added. Very comfy, and will expand well. I’ll get Mr. LIssar to take pics when he gets home. I think I’ll cut out a skirt while I’m at it. Or maybe I’ll clean the bathroom. Hmm.

That is all. Bushed, going to sleep soon (22:45 here).
Happy weekend y’all!
Li-Li - do you have a print that will go well with the purplr jersey? because a contrasting/complimentary skirt with a solid top (especially in a summer dress) looks very nice (I used to make a lot of my own dresses - one of these days I’ll see if I can find picks of me in them)
I unfortunately don’t have any prints at all. Wait, no- I have a dark teal skirt that’s got thin stripes. Best Friend is arriving on Tuesday, and she wants to sew, so we’re hitting the fabric stores on Wednesday. I was thinking about lightweight prints to make fun skirts. Well, thinking cautiously. I’m not a huge print fan, but they look nice in skirts. Or for contrast piping or whatever.
Best Friend, unfortunately, is a huge print fan. And a lime-green-hot-pink-bright-orange fan. Which she, most unfortunately, looks stunning in. Here she is four years ago, at her wedding I had to wear fire engine red. Greater love hath no woman. Anyway, she’s fircking tall and blonde and gorgeous. It’s very depressing.
Happy Friday, MMPers! (Probably a little late by some’s standards, but oh well.) This one’s just gonna be a drive-by for today.
Unfortunately, I come bearing sad news. My best friend, as we speak, is putting her cat to sleep. Lyle, the kitty, was only four years old, but he’d been throwing up constantly for a month – she took him to the vet yesterday, and found out he had stomach cancer. So her family decided just to have it done quickly, so he didn’t have to suffer anymore. But she loves her pets immensely, and I know perfectly well how hard it is to part with a pet who’s seen as part of the family. If/when she calls me, I’ll be spending the evening with her, comforting her as best I can.
That’s really sad news, meli, but your friend’s family are doing the best thing for Lyle and he will be surrounded by people who love him and want only what’s best for him.
On a slightly brighter note, Debbie has managed to trap Prestwick (who’s a she, not a he) and has taken her away. She’ll be going to the vet in the morning and Debbie will let me know what they say - we got a look at her collar injury which looks very nasty. The chain had matted into her fur and the skin was starting to grow over it, and the whole site was badly infected. Hopefully the vet will be able to do something but there’s a chance she might lose that leg. Debbie said it was lucky we’d called as soon as we realised the kitten was injured because the injury would have become gangrenous and the kitten could have died in a couple of weeks. Now at least she has a fighting chance.
Debbie’s also coming back on Monday to try and trap Stanstead so he can get to a vet and have his jewels off. He’s also got a flea allergy which would explain the sorry state of his fur and his general disreputable appearance.
She did ask if we wanted to have either of the cats back or if she should find them homes when she can, much as I’d like to have both of them I know it’s not practical for us so she will keep them and we’ll be making a donation to her business as she runs largely on charity.

Between the Cult game and coming down to the wire on beading I haven’t been paying much attention to the MMP; I will be better after the 4th. I did read something about Swampy in a pinafore…I am scared.
I thought I’d see a Nordic goddess in a lime green-ornge-hot pink wedding dress!
Damn.
as for that site that Jahdra linked to–jeebus and then some!
I still need to do some more work. I made cupcakes-does that count? With home made frosting, I might add. Why is it when I feel bed, I bake? Freud would have a field day.
I am also living the wrong life: #2 son came in a while ago and asked for a ride to a friend’s house…since the said friend is just back from Kenya(!). I’ll get to go on safari this summer–to Indiana.
Ok, peas and green beans are all done and frozen. Well, on their way to being frozen as they are in bags in the freezer. Supper has also been et. Whew! I’ve been a busy bear. None of it while wearing gingham, calico, a pinafore or a bonnet, thankyewverymuch.
It’s attempting to rain here so maybe I’ll go watch it for a while. A beerverage and rain watchin’ on the back porch sound really good right now.
Later Y’all!
Oh, meli sorry to hear about your friend’s cat. You’re a good friend. BooFae here’s hopin’ kitty will be ok.
I have consumed a yummmy yummy slice of raspberry-chocolate cheesecake. The chocolate part was cake. Then there was a little layer of raspberry puree. Then cheesecake. There was a raspberry/strawberry sauce and whipped cream and a few fresh raspberries. Did I mention yummmmmmm?
Don’t read this next part meli: Have I mentioned recently that I love you, Al? Can’t believe it myself, but every time I do the math, my age comes out the same. Anyway, thanks for the compliment.
Sorry about your friend’s kitty, meli. And good on you, Boo, for getting those cats proper care.
Your dinner sounded yummy, Rebo.
Sewing projects sound like fun, LiLi. I have to confess that I laughed at the McDonald’s for breakfast. I’m afraid tinyninjachef is going to insist on a diet of fast food, or highly processed food at best…
Myself, I was imagining swampy with ribbons in his hair and a very housewifey apron or maybe a housedress. That link is indescribable, Jahdra. Yarn one was pretty though.
I know several people who have had similar thyroid problems, tarra. They’ve all had surgery and are taking medication, but are otherwise fine.
My brother has bought a couple seasons of Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore. They’re both still funny and his kids love them.
I think an iPhone would be fun, but I’m not about to spend that amount of money on a phone, even if it is an iPod too. Maybe after my next phone (which I need to go look for, I suppose; both my phone and my PDA are starting to go and I’m thinking I should get something that will combine both if it’s not too expensive). What kind of phone do you have MBG?
You’ll be happy to know July 2nd is World UFO Day or some such. They just said so on Marketplace.
Guess I should go outside or something. It’s very nice out.

It’s a Samsung, I believe it’s called the Sync. Mine’s blue, but i remember you can get maroon, or Silver. Mostly, it’s the network it works on which is blinding fast for the internet.
gt you mean like this?
Can’t remember who asked, but I don’t want an iPhone. My cell is the freebie Nokia that I got from Cingular 3 years ago. Very basic. No camera, no fancy stuff. It works like a phone, which is all I want.
I just don’t understand the love of gadgetry…
Just looked at it and it’s on sale. How’s the sound quality? Do you use it for music? Can you download songs from a computer or do you have to use the phone’s internet connection? (I’m cheap; I wouldn’t use it…) Just wondering. (Pretty phone though…)
Thanks.

Yes, that’s lovely. Now all you need is a sunbonnet. Trust me on this–the guys will go crazy. You’ll be beating them off with your wooden spoon (or your rolling pin…)
I still have to do my work. This is BAD.
Why does** Anyrose** love Al? Do they share a lust for older British actors?
I am sorry about the kitties. Here’s hoping the one girl finds peace (and a new kitty) and the sick kitty gets well.
Going to watch Ferris Buehler’s Day Off with my daughter tonight. I’m on a Bob Newhart show (the first one) kick as well. Still funny after all these years (and now I ge the sexual innuendos!)
I’m home. A thunderstorm showed up just as I booted up, so i read the paper and napped. I am making spicy catfish stir fry for dinner, then it’s the pouring of the Guinness. I saw on the news that iRobot(maker of the Roomba) and Tazer are teaming up.I guess this means Rod can get Mediveval on the pets now.
Mamatigs, I just got a LG CU500 to replace my five year old Nokia.
gt, you’re 50? I would have said 30ish.
{{{{Herbs}}}}
I do not want to see swampbeer in any dress.
rigs, back to work young lady!
Happy Friday, everyone else!
So you’re saying you want to see **swampy ** *out * of a dress? You flirt, you…
Why is it you preverts want to see me nekkid? Ok, yeah, maybe I can understand the appeal but this constant beggin’ of me to get nekkid is really too much!
oh. good. grief. what was missing was live models. Who buys that stuff anyway (besides a crossdressing swampbear)?
