What mixed drink do you usually order?

I usually order a vodka and tonic. That probably means I’m bland and uninteresting. :stuck_out_tongue:

Depending on my mood and where I am:

In a place where it seems unlikely that they can make a decent drink, I order a Meyer’s and coke with a lime. Everyone can make that.

Places with a good bartender I usually get an Old Fashioned.

I love a good Margarita, but ‘round here the only place to get one o’ them is Chez Athena. I ordered one in a local bar once against my better judgement and got a Tequila and Sprite.

I guess that makes me boring too, it’s either Gin and Tonic or if I’m feeling dangerous Bourbon and Water.

I usually order whatever their equivalent of a Blue Hawaiian is. (Sometimes it has local names like Tropical Azul or Cerulean Surfer).

Gin and Tonic… Preferrably Bombay Sapphire, if not, then Bombay and lastly Tanqueray. If those are not available then it’s microbrew or Guinness only.

It all depends on my mood, and where I am.

If I’m in a regular kind of bar, then I’ll stick with gin & tonics, vodka & tonics, or diet coke & rum or vanilla vodka.

If I’m in a fancier bar or in Vegas, I’ll order an Apple Martini or a Absolut Kurrant Cosmopolitan.

If I’m at Claim Jumpers (a Black Angus-style steakhouse on the West Coast), I get Thunderclouds (a very deadly shot if there ever was one).

Once in a blue moon, on a really hot day, at an outdoor bar, I’ll order a gin and tonic. I’m not picky about the brand of gin.

Otherwise, I stick to whiskey on the rocks. Powers Irish whiskey, to be specific.

If it’s brunch, a bloody Mary. Otherwise, bourbon and soda. If I’m working outside on a hot day, (And in Phoenix it’s always hot  ), I’ll have a gin and tonic.

Scotch and cola. Or a Long Island if I’m really partying.

Does beer count? Murphey’s Stout or Bass Ale …mmmm…

Kettle one and Cran

       Or

Sapphire Martini dirty and neat

Another Bombay Sapphire and tonic here. Good stuff, that.

House drunk checking in.

Either Southern Comfort on rocks, or Stoli with either Red Bull or lemonade.

Frozen margarita.

IANA big drinker, but when I do order a mixed drink, it’s almost always one of the following (depending on mood and location):

  1. Bombay sapphire and Rose’s lime juice (I know it’s a ‘gimlet’, but it must be those two items, accept no substitutes)

  2. Whiskey Sour (preferably with a good blended Scotch)

  3. Bloody Mary (especially if they can make it with a pepper Vodka).

  4. Margarita (only at Mexican restaurants)

Margarita, if I’m at a seafood restaurant. Otherwise, kir or Bristol Creme. I don’t really go to bars, so these are restaurant drinks… I am completely lost at a bar. I might try a dirty martini if I was desperate.

What’s a good drink for a girl to order at a bar?

Bombay Sapphire and tonic here, too. Occasionally I’ll switch to a whisky sour or Cuba Libre (rum and cola with lime juice).

Mostly I’m a beer/ wine/ sherry/ straight spirits bloke. But when I order a mixed drink, it’s Campari and soda.

I’m an “it depends” kinda drinker, too. I like an Absolut or Kettel madras…unless the cranberry juice is on the gun. Too sweet. And I like bloody marys, but I have to have them spicy with pepper vodka. When in doubt of the bartender’s skills, I have a Sapphire martini, extra dry, slightly dirty, two olives.

JavaMaven1 what’s in a Thundercloud? I’m always looking to broaden my repertoire.

Spring/Summer time: Mojitos (yeah, I know they were cool a couple years ago, they’re still tasty tho)
Fall/Winter time: Oatmeal Cookies (Bailey’s Irish Cream and Goldschlager on the rocks)

A Screaming Orgasm. Duh.
