My favorite mixed drink is a Rusty Nail. And yours?
(Margaritas come close, though.)

I’m partial to a good gin & tonic.
Other than that I usually take my booze neat.
Hard time choosing between an old fashioned daiquiri and just a plain Old Fashioned.
Moved IMHO --> Cafe Society.
The one I order most often: Margarita
The one I make the most at home: Manhattan
Bourbon (or Jack in the Black) and Coke.
I think I love you.
Wait, are you female?
The Smurf
44oz of Mountain Dew
Between 15-25 of the blue raspberry flavor shots from Circle K (at this point the drink is called a Señor Azul)
About 6 shots of vodka (however much it takes to fill the 44oz cup back up after a bit of loitering before returning home with the goods)
I ran into a bar in San Jose that actually knew what a Greyhound was.
Yea!
Long Slow Comfortable Screw Against the Wall for obvious reasons.
I don’t drink mixed drinks, in general. The best one I ever had was called a Snickers Bar by the guy who made it. I don’t recall the recipe, but it included hazelnut liqueur and a bunch of other stuff.
Joe
I once took a bartending course (never did get a job as a bartender, though), where one’s final project was to invent a new cocktail recipe. Mine was the “Scotch Engineer”: 1 oz. Scotch, 1 oz. gin, club soda over ice.
I mention it only for purposes of elimination. It was no more palatable than one might expect of a recipe based on a pun. :o
Interestingly, when I was in Kenya in 2009, I learned that a G&T is not considered a mixed drink there. Presumably because you can “mix” it yourself if they bring you gin & a bottle of tonic.
My favorite mixed drink is one I can only get at home these days, though my guy reverse engineered it from a bar that’s now out of business. It’s a pear flavored drink the bar called a “Le Fleur”.
If I’m out and about, I’m most likely to order a margarita. That said, I’m finding mezcal drinks to be far superior. I mostly find this interesting because I’ll drink many a tequila neat, but I’ve only found one mezcal that I find palatable neat.
It was a Glenlivet Rusty Nail that moved me out of wine and beer land into the cocktail universe, but my drink of choice is a nice basic gin martini these days, thank you.
Yes, I believe I will have another…
Mine would be an Atomic Suicide for sentimental reasons, but on its own merits, I’d probably go with a Shirley Temple.
A gin and tonic when I’m classy, a California Cocaine if I wanna get trashy.
Sazerac, even though I currently have to go to Herculean efforts to get the Peychaud’s bitters.
Either a Red Death, or a place near here make something called a Suffering Bastard.
Sex on the Beach, with more schnapps and less vodka.
Tequila Sunrise. LOVE 'EM.
Lime Margarita on the rocks is very good too.
